Evaluation

RatingA-

Pros

  • Revives himself when destroyed.
  • Can destroy your opponent’s monsters.
  • Destroys your Nephthys cards which triggers their effects.

Cons

  • Being a Ritual monster makes him costly and difficult to summon.
  • Can only activate removal effect if you have Nephthys cards to destroy.

Tips

Summoning

Rebirth of Nephthys is this monster’s intended Ritual card and if you use another Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys or Devotee of Nephthys as ritual tribute you can destroy one card on the field.

Djinn

The Djinn monsters are all able to use themselves as ritual tribute even while in the graveyard, which eases your summoning cost. Additionally, each of them gives your Ritual monster an additional effect when they are used as ritual tribute.

Cards of the Soul

Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys has a combined attack and defense of 4000 which means you can search him out Cards of the Soul if you have full LP. You can also search for Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys another boss monster of the deck.

Nephthys

Use Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys’ effect to clear your opponent’s board while also destroying your Nephthys monsters to trigger their effects.

Why am I unable to activate six style duel wield in response to its summon? Instead he gets to destroy it... wtf his effect doesn’t prevent activation

The guy I duel had two monsters on the field and I had one in attack position, but the ritual summon didn’t prompt a trap activation. It clearly should.

On top of that his removal effect has to be activated manually and it still did not prompt my cards for activation. That card even negated my treacherous trap hole.

It's cause the effect is already resolving on the stack. The summon AND the destroy effect resolve before another stack can happen. You can't respond to it unless you activate prior. Same happens when Yubel misses the timing for its effect.

Needs to be limited yubel and cerulean should not work together totally overpowered

Only if you run two or more.

One of these and a yellow chicken with the bucket heads doing their thing and we have ourselves a malignant tumour.

Love how people try to defend this by saying its not as bad as Koa'ki Meru was. You people are aware that this thing has basically the same effect as Maximus, same stats, and unlike Maximus, it comes back to life after being destroyed. Not to mention, the deck its usually run in has an infinite blocker in the form of Yubel-Terror. This isn't Koa'ki Meru, its worse.

Yubel has counterplay. Make him/her/it miss timing and you’re fine to go. Theres hardly any counterplay to full power kokais. You go second, huh I’m in danger.

Yo before the update when I had two of these on the field and incarnate destroyed both, both would come back now only one Konami can you fix this I really liked being an evil menace to society

No, because it's correct. The effect states you can only use the effect of Cerulean only once per turn.

The restriction applies to all copies of Cerulean since it mentions by name, instead of "this card". Which means, after you revive one, you can't revive another copy in the same turn.
