That's because those monsters are being Special Summoned, not Tributed.

this sucks man, i felt in the same trap, thought i was smart using zolga on my toon deck,but fist game i noticed it doesnt work with toons,so sad haha

Exactly this.
I thought I had a good idea using zolga to "tribute" summon a toon and was wondering why it's effect wasn't working. Such bullcrap that the toon that requires tribute constitutes a "special summon" condition.

umm, "tribute to special summon" isn't only a Toon thing.

Does the effect activate when you use Zolga as a tribute for winged dragon of ra? So it can gain even more atk and def

What's the problem? in the real game we have things like Alexandrite dragon, 2000 atk, 4 stars and no side effects

The healing effect doesn't work when you tribute lvl 7 or higher monster

First match against Ishizu lvl 40, I lost a duel and won this card xd
This seems pretty good card for pvp but I'm still a pve player and I don't need to recover my hp yet :p

this card is pretty awesome. Potential to extend the game is always very nice in the face of Dinosaur Kingdom meta.
