Maybe in the tcg/ocg but this is duel links and we don't even know what skill this will be paired up with, not to mention it has potential to be top tier

Normal summon psy reflector, search assault beast, activate beast, discard for AMA, psy reflector then reveal AMA in your hand SS beast and increase its level, bam 1 card lv6-9 synchro

Even if u don't have the ur Jack Atlas has a skill where red dragon archfiend is automatically included in your deck. Yes, I know it's insanely bad that u can't use other skills or another character but it does allow the deck to be usable even without the ur drawn from the shop

True, but I basically want red dragon, that and I’d be using it for gimmicks since my Jack is already maxed. The bad thing about assault modes are that they must be special summoned from the deck, so if you draw it you can’t use it. Sadly they haven’t given us assault synergy cards to return, at least based on spoiler.

You shouldn't conclude from TCG/OCG that it will be bad in Duel Links as well. And we don't know all of the cards that are in this deck yet. Maybe they'll give us some support which makes /AM monsters playable.

It's not so much a conclusion from TCG/OCG as it is a conclusion from it's effect. It's literally a 3500 boss monster with a weak effect and no inherent protection. The meta has evolved to the point that a high attack boss monster is no longer a guaranteed win or even a difficult thing to get over.

Non-target destruction is still nice even though it destroys your own monsters as well. And it really really sucks that it has no protection.

True but u have to remember that this is duel links and all u need is vice dragon with a dark res to syncro red dragon archfiend and during your opponents turn u could use assault mode basically getting red dragon archfiend assault mode by turn 2

I see this being mixed with invoked off the bat. A discardable earth monster combined with the easy slotable BRD makes for easy material. I wonder what else the assault beast engine can be mixed with.

If they release Stardust Dragon AM as a box's UR, it would be a very dirty move since you cannot summon it without purchasing the EX Structure Deck

I don't see your problem. You usually can buy one deck with gems and you probably don't want to have more than 1 /AM monster per Synchro Monster in your deck anyway since they are basically dead draws.

EX Structure Deck won't be optimal if you only purchase it once. Even for the bad one like Magician structure deck, people still purchase it 3 times just for Keeper of Dragon Magic. And I am the type of person who prefer play nothing than play incomplete deck

It seems this structure deck is worse than the chaos one if I see the list so far but most of the SD EX will be meta although the chaos one only keeper of dragon magic is the most used one

They did use the Assault Mode in anime, just not in the series, but a movie instead.

To be honest, they could have given us the retrained version of the trap the TCG released a while ago that can be activated immediately. Guess they feared it might be too much in DL format.
