Cons

  • Restrictive summoning condition.
  • Cannot be revived.

Tips

  • You can destroy an opponent’s monster upon summoning to get rid of a combo piece. This lets you get rid of one-card Synchro enablers like Shiranui Squire and Dragunity Senatus, preventing them from Synchro Summoning. However, this does not negate the effect so they will still get to Special Summon a monster.

Summoning

Summoning Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight with Eye of Timaeus eases the cost because it doesn’t require the Dragon-type material. Curse of Dragonfire gets rid of the need for a Fusion Spell. Dragon’s Mirror lets you use monsters from the graveyard as material, which requires some set up but it’s the most cost effective way.

The Magician Girl archetype provides you with an easy way to get Dark Magician Girl on the field to target with Eye of Timaeus. Berry Magician Girl in particular can Special Summon Dark Magician Girl from the Deck.
