Silent Queen | The Tie that Binds | July 24 |
A comment from Silent Queen:
The deck I used is my own twist on “Spellbound Silence Spellbooks” with Yugi Muto (because I disdain users who use Yugi’s signature cards with an unworthy character like that Light & Dark dude.
The most crucial part is to be able to summon Silent Magician as soon as possible (turn 1 preferably) or if you really cannot, trying to survive for turn two to get your Silent Magician via the use of Spellbook Organization while you stand your ground with Spellbook Magician of Prophecy on turn one.
The use is simple, summon Spellbook Magician of Prophecy first (safely if you start first but if you start second, be mindful of Treacherous Trap Card cuz if opponents know you’re playing Silent Magician, they could disrupt you by sacrificing their monster on the field and prevent you from executing any further move on that turn.
The KEY DIFFERENT for me is I don’t use Crescent Library because I found that most often, it gets stuck on my hand if you cannot use it before summoning other spell cards like Spellbook of Secrets which mean you MUST ALWAYS have Prophercy or Library on hand in order to use Library which isn’t worth it for me so I use One-Shot Wand instead which proves very well (you can use it to get more cards on hand and boost Silent Magician attack before she attacks when you equip the wand on Prophecy and let him attack first).
If you start first, on turn 1, make sure you have 3 Spellbooks in GY with a set Spellbook of Fate. This way you are guaranteed to banish at least 1 card on the opponent turn and greatly disrupt their play. Knowing which one to banish is also important.
Six Sam(banish their tuner to prevent them from summoning Shien),
Ancient Gear(banish either their Wyvern or the Geartown field spell for Fortress that summons Reactor or wait till they bring in reactor to banish Reactor itself right before battle phase)
Blue-eyes, banish the white stone.
Red-eyes, banish Slash Dragon

A comment from Kortezzy:
Tips: For mirror tech cosmic or any of back tow hate. Try to play sparingly. For this rely on TTH and only chain it to the swordman. Ancient gears are hard but the neos build allows you to stall for TTH.

Hylianer | Masked Tribute | July 5 |
A comment from Hylianer:
Subterror Survival End
A very cool, funny and frustrating for your opponent variant of Subterror.
Survival End Engine 2 Ends and 1 Ptera.
Typicall Subterror Engine: 3*Final Battle, 3 Stygo, 3 Warrior, 2 Uma.
Else: Tsukuyomi and Golem for flip down(Golem high def, Tsuku for effect even on attack), Canadia for Interruption, Cosmic for remove of opponents Final Battle, Geartowns, Treacherous and so on, Drowning for Slash Dragon.
How to play:
Play it like a normal Subterror deck.
But use your masked tribute at first with Survival End --> summon Ptera --> use End in the grave --> destroy Ptera and opponents card --> chain Warrior, tribute Warrior and Ptera, summon Stygo or Uma --> one destroy + one Subterror Behemoth.
It's a very effective and sometimes a stronger variant than normal Subterror.

Dj Avy | Masked Tribute | July 9 |
A comment from Dj Avy:
I used this deck with Paleozoic Canadia and reach to legend, however these legend guys are not here to joke and they swarm the field with monster effects and you can't even deploy or activate your sub terrors. So the best way is to counter them using forbidden chalice and of course patience is very important to understand your opponent's move.
VS Six Sams: Very easy, try to remove Fuma before it summon another level 4 monster, if not, if shi en is summon just be patient and activate traps/spell wisely. Cosmic cyclone is the perfect card to remove duel wield
VS Red eyes: Easy, dnt let slash dragon equip and you win the match.
VS Blue eyes: Moderate, Sprite of white is the real problem if it banish your SFB
and beware of white stone of ancient banish it instead of destroying it.
VS Koa'ki Meiru: very easy
VS Ancien Gears: Hmm.. Very Hard: if they bring their reactor dragon, its game over, so counter it wisely
VS others: Be patient and learn their moves, every deck has key cards that you can either destroy or banish.

Saitama | Masked Tribute | July 12 |
A comment from Saitama:
Again Kog with subterror. The deck has great consistancy and winning rate of exactly 80%. How do I know that? Because I was repeating 4 wins and 1 lose 4 times and finally got to Kog in 5th try. But one thing to mention is that when I was in Platinam, I only lost 2 times and got to legend with 8 wins. And when I got to lengend 3, I NEVER lost 2 times in a row. The build is typical and the 3 canadia, 1 FTT, 2 back row removal and of course the skill masked tribute is crucial for this subterror deck. I think I will not be able to run this deck in next season of ranked duel since the skill is going to be nurfed. And one more thing is that if you have 2 of TTH, then put it in to ANY deck you are running, since that cards is just too much for a lot of decks now.

FinalPhase | Destiny Draw | July 26 |
A comment from FinalPhase:
I found that this deck worked particularly well against the Six Samurai deck most times, provided that my opponent did not have the treacherous trap hole (which totally ruins games and should be banned or reworded to tribute 1 and destroy 2), and provided the opponent did not have six samurai “style” to return my monsters.
Anyway, the play particularly worked when my opponent swarmed the field and I was able to activate Needle Wall in response to shut down their swarm. OR I found a decent play was to use the trap card “Subterror Final Battle” for Subterrors and use “Ultramafus” to flip all face up to face down position before my opponent had a chance to synchro summon Shien. Because of this combination, I found Stygokraken to be super helpful to destroy the now set monsters or to destroy the spell/trap and attack the monsters due to Shien’s low defense.
On another note, against other decks, I found this deck very helpful when I had the “Subterror Final Battle” trap card. I was able to make it to Legend 1 without the trap card “Subterror Final Battle” but very difficult to advance after that.
I also versed Metaphys decks and found this deck particularly able to deal well against them, such as removing Daedalus before it had the opportunity to attack during the battle phase or being able to defend against it and return to hand using Golem or Guardian.
This kind of play, being able to control my opponent, allowed me to advance but I did find I had to use the deck quite tactfully in my opponent’s turn as I only had ONE opportunity to use a Subterror skill with the activation of my trap card.
Of course, with Nemesis warrior, the deck was very strong for a second turn summon majority of the time and its ability to continue to be returned to the field.
The enemy controller was very suitable for the deck due to its swarm and being able to take control of my opponent’s monster or to stop them from using the Tuner during their turn.
Fantastic deck, very happy to have made it to the king of games rank!

CooprTrooprz | Labyrinth Builder | July 31 |
A comment from CooprTrooprz:
Subterrors is back and better than ever. Deep-Sea Diva was a great spice card, paired with Labyrinth Builder it was an easy Crystron Quariongandrax summon. If my opponent had back row, I can easily just go into Black Rose Dragon, wipe the field and summon a Brave Neos for a free direct attack.

eastern girl | It's a Toon World | July 10 |
A comment from eastern girl:
Toon cyber dragon inspired me to build this deck.
Going second is ideal with this deck
Toon cyber dragon+ junk synchron = junk destroyer to pop one card on opponent field.
Another synchro play is TDMG+ junk synchron= Vermillion dragon to pop one card on opponent field.
Unknown synchron can special summon itself for synchro summon or to tribute for TDMG.
The rest of the deck is typical toon play
( psychic ace for destruction and relinkuriboh for draw)
I chose sphere kuriboh E-con TTH for protection.
You need to play carefully and don't rush for OTK, and with some luck you can reach KOG with this deck.
