Draw Sense: High Level Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1800. In the Draw Phase, instead of doing a normal draw, draw a random monster of Level 5 or higher | Seto Kaiba |
Darkord Desire is the boss monster of this deck, and only real way of dealing damage with his good base stats. Aside from his good stats he also provides great monster removal at the cost of decreasing his own attack stat by 1000 he can send an opponent's monster to the graveyard. Keep in mind this effect sends to the graveyard not destroys which makes it even better by bypassing some effects triggered by destruction.
The Monarchs Awaken lets you negate Darklord Desire's attack which brings him back up to his base 3000 attack. This also makes him immune to other card effects, making The Monarchs Awaken a great defensive card. This does come with the downside of not being able to use Darklord Desire to remove oppoent's monsters, but a good trade off. Best used when your opponent attacks into your weakened Darklord Desire, or when you want to dodge a harmful effect.
Darklord Desire can be Tribute Summoned by tributing only 1 Fairy-type monster. Which is specifically why the low-leveled monsters in this deck are Fairy-types.
Cloudian - Altus is primarily used as tribute fodder when summoning Darklord Desire. He cannot be destroyed by battle which gives him some survivability until you get to tribute summon. But be careful cause you must summon him in attack position to be immune from battle destruction, which means you can take a whole lot of damage. He also has a second effect, that will rarely be used in this deck, to discard a random card from your opponent's hand. You must have both Cloudian Altus on the field to use this effect.
Another monster you can use as tribute fodder is Winged Kuriboh. Special Summoning Winged Kuriboh and then using him as tribute for Darklord Desire is the quickest way to bring out your boss monster.
Winged Kuriboh can also be used in turns where you don't have your combo and want to stall. When destroyed by battle Winged Kuriboh protects you from all battle damage for the rest of the turn.
Cards of the Sky lets you banish a LIGHT Fairy-type monster from your hand and draw 2 cards. Winged Kuriboh would be your only choice for cost in this deck. This can be used when you are trying to dig your deck for Darklord Desire or The Monarchs Awaken.
However using Cards from the Sky will prevent your from Special Summoning, which in this deck means you cannot play The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh and Cards from the Sky in the same turn. You also cannot conduct your Battle Phase.
Power of the Guardians is a great defense option that can also provide a significant attack boost. The equipped Monster gains a counter when it is involved in battle. The counter can then be removed to survive that battle, making the Monster effectively immune to battle destruction.
The monster also gains 500 attack for each counter which can slightly soften oncoming battle damage, or build up it's attack stat. Equipping this card to Darklord Desire can let him slowly gain back the attack he lost due to his effect. But keep in mind that Power of the Guardians will not be in-effect if the Darklord Desire it is equipped to is also equipped with The Monarchs Awaken.
