Tips

Monarchs

As the name implies this card was made with Monarch support in mind. All monarch monsters want to be tribute summoned to gain advantage. The Monarchs Erupt will serve as disruption against enemy monster effects with your Monarch's effects not being negated. The Vassal's will also not be negated as their effects activate on-hand and in the graveyard when they are tributed. Make sure you only activate The Monarchs Awaken after your Monarch's effect has already resolved.

Ancient Gear

Ancient Gear is an archetype heavy on tribute summoning. Another trait of Ancient Gear monsters is that they prevent your opponent from using spell/trap cards during battle. With the added monster effect disruption of The Monarchs Erupt your opponent would have a hard time getting effects off against you.

Aside monarch, I think the best target for this card is supremacy sun. It has solid 3000 ATK/DEF. Also it has no continuous effect on the field and even supremacy sun's effect is still can be applied in GY bypassing this card.

Good luck with the 2 tributes. Just use majestic mech goryu or his fire counterpart.

Beast Machine King Barbaros Ur is also a good one.

High ATK, and its negative effect is negated by this card anyway.

trash card cant even do anything when the equip monster attack kelbek. tried already vs LD lvl 10, i gave kelbek to joe wheeler then attack it. you know what my monster return to my hand and the monarch awaken go GY

It should prevent Kelbek's effect, so you probably missed something.

The tribute summon mechanic is dea d, not only is slow but weak the highest atk a tribute summon card with a decent effect is 3000 atk, saber dancer, the lvl 11 blackwing, every, verre, overdragon, ascalon, all of them can beat over anything you tribute without using effects over your monsters

But the effect is negated entirely so it doesn’t matter if the effect is good or not.

They wrote "unaffected by the effects of cards other than this card", but after my monster is swapped atk and def by opponent's Inverse Universe trap card (in main phase), it did not return to the original value even I use this card (in battle phase). Why?

Because it's already too late, Inverse Universe has already resolved and applied one phase ago. The ATK/DEF change, essentially, has become part of the monster.

Fun tip for you guys, if you use Marik's skill Power of the Tributed, Ra will still keep the attack points received from Marik's skill. This could potentially give you a very high attack card that you can't get over.

Yes. Power of tributes isn't an effect, it's a skill, so this preserved.
That is the only way to make RA almost invincible (Obelisk is overtaken) except for a monster which exceeds his ATK.
Still, you can use his effect to destroy monsters from field if you're careful to activate that before this trap... for a next direct attack unstoppable.
Almost an immortal phoenix simulation with differences.

This card is actually pretty good with Steelswarms and not with Monarchs xD unleast they receive more support in the future of course. So ppl are saying Caius is going to come soon.

You can counter this effect by chaining cards like FTH, Canadia, Eco and TTH to its activation right? Doesn't make it that good imo. It basically only protects from battle traps.

you can, but most players will just chain awakens into something that'll try to remove the card.

nanii ?

Can someone tell how in the blue hell some dudes got 3 copies of this card? I've seen even some gameplays featuring those 3 copies, wth... I remember there were only 2 copies available as reward in log in campaigns !_! ... did I miss something?

Cards that are good for Monarch awaken :
- Ancient Gear Golem (solid 3000 ATK & 3000 DEF, can be summoned using Ancient Gear Castle and Tribute Burial, both still counted as Tribute Summon so Monarch Awaken will still work)
- Blizzard Princess (solid ATK, decent DEF, can be instant summoned using Legion or Tricky. Can also be summoned using Tribute Burial. Your opponent cannot chain activate/chain backrow the turn this card is summoned)
- Silent Swordman LV 5 (Silent Sword Slash + Monarch Awaken will give you an unstoppable monster)
