This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by paying 500 Life Points when both "Andro Sphinx" and "Sphinx Teleia" on your side of the field are destroyed at the same time; then you can Special Summon this monster from your hand or Deck. When this card is Special Summoned successfully, pay 500 Life Points to increase the ATK of this card by 3000 points until the end of the End Phase.

Pyramid of Light

Support Cards

These cards can be used to remove Pyramid of Light to trigger the condition to summon Theinen, at the same time eliminate most of your opponent’s backrow. If Wild Tornado is also destroyed, you can destroy opponent’s face up monster as well. Since Pyramid of Light is destroyed, results in Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia being destroyed and removed from play simultaneously, you are now able to Special Summon Theinen. Theinen is able to end the game easier since there are no backrows to worry about, but still susceptible to Sphere Kuribohs. Since it costs Life Points to get this far, it is suggested you have some healing cards in your deck as well.

Storm does NOT trigger the effect. Suggest oops! Instead for guaranteed trigger. One caveat, both Sphinxes must have been summoned the same way. If there is a normal summoned sphinx and a special summoned sphinx, destroying POL doesn't trigger the effect either.

It absolutely does. You can special summon andro/teleia and normal summon the other. As long as pyramid of light is on the field and is destroyed then you can bring out thienen

Man i've tried many ways to destroy the pyramid or the 2 sphinx but not trigger the summon

This guy only looks powerful in Pyramid of Light movie (Pyramid of Light as added effect of negating God cards presence which is not even in the new pack's description). When it comes to duel links, good luck in getting it out. Everything fails to ECON take and SRH and those wall traps, and oh jolly floodgate.

Naa, if you destroy Pyramid of Light, it banishes the sphinxes for Thienen. There are combos for destroying your spell for the cost of a trap on your field to get Thienen out. Has to either be a glitch or they nerfed it mang.

Perfect combo is andro with great maju...6000 attack and you can attack when sp.sum. also works miracles with sphinx and wild nature release cause it gets 3000 attack for evry spell...meaning 9000+2500=11500 better farming than slypher...

It's because there's tyre extra step of choosing your opponents cards to destroy which misses the trigger effect of Theinen. Try oops instead. Works guaranteed. Only if both Sphinxes are summoned the same way before they're destroyed. A special summoned and a normal summoned sphinx destroyed by POL effect will also not trigger the special summon.

Use oops! Guaranteed to trigger the effect unless you normal summoned one of the 2 Sphinxes.

I was having the same issue but I found the problem. Once they are summoned you have to wait until your next turn to destroy them and then you can activate Theinen the Great Sphinx

Card is broken. I summoned Telia and Andro, destroyed Pyramid of Light and all it did was nuke my field.

I just notice this card is now fixed, you can destroy Pyramid with storm to special summon this from deck. (back then storm isn't work and can only be called from hand)

It doesn't seem like it. I've tried combo-ing Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia with Hysteric Fairy, but got nothing as a result.

Sphynx stats are great but....WHAT IS THE 🔥ING POINT KONAMI IF YOU HAVENT LIMITED 🔥 LIKE SUPER RUSH, e-CON OR TRIBUTE TO THE DOOM WTF WHY ARE YOU RELEASING CARDS THAT ARE NOT EVEN IMMUNE TO THE 🔥 THAT A MAJORITY OF SPELLS AND TRAPS PEOPLE ARE PLAYING HUH. PPL GO THROUGH ALL THE TROUBLE JUST TO GET SPHYNX AND BAM TRIBUTE TO THE DOOM or super rush eliminate those 🔥ing cards and we can actually start seeing monsters and archtypes do what the 🔥 they are supposed to 🔥ing do, some of th emost powerful monsters in the game fall victim to the sluttiest most abused cards in the 🔥ing game no wonder ppl rather play against AI the multiplayer is littered with 🔥 that prevents you from even playing a archtype

Yeah. In the OCG, all those cards are not that broken since there are many ways to prevent/counter them. However, in duel links, the card pool is not big enough, making it really hard to counter them. Really sucks
