This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by paying 500 Life Points when both "Andro Sphinx" and "Sphinx Teleia" on your side of the field are destroyed at the same time; then you can Special Summon this monster from your hand or Deck. When this card is Special Summoned successfully, pay 500 Life Points to increase the ATK of this card by 3000 points until the end of the End Phase.

Pyramid of Light

Support Cards

These cards can be used to remove Pyramid of Light to trigger the condition to summon Theinen, at the same time eliminate most of your opponent’s backrow. If Wild Tornado is also destroyed, you can destroy opponent’s face up monster as well. Since Pyramid of Light is destroyed, results in Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia being destroyed and removed from play simultaneously, you are now able to Special Summon Theinen. Theinen is able to end the game easier since there are no backrows to worry about, but still susceptible to Sphere Kuribohs. Since it costs Life Points to get this far, it is suggested you have some healing cards in your deck as well.

Today tried to use parallel twister to destroy the only enemy back row and the pyramid of light and thus the two beasts for otk. Still nothing popped up to summon this card. I surrendered next second. It sucks. Wonder when this bug will be fixed.. thought it would be ok since mini box came out.

Just tried the combo myself. Still not fixed. Is there maybe a “timing” thing? Not 100% on the rulings for Theinen.

I came up with a pure strategy to pop this guy out of the deck but every time this doesn't work, it asks if i would like to activate an effect but no card shows up and am forced to not activate anything, is this a bug because i think this deck could be pretty fun to use

two pronged attack works great, thunder crash is also a good one and then fire king island, works better than most people think. Actually win some games in KOG right now but this deck would be so much better if he can come right from the deck

I also use a very similar deck that revolves around taking them out using fire king island however I am experiencing the same issue you are trying to summon from the deck. A lot of people think this will be fixed when the new pack gets released but highly doubt it.

popped 2 pronged attack during opponents b-phase, was prompted to summon Theinen from hand, and also prompted to pay to increase his attack.

haven't tested same setup when he's in deck though...

Is this card bugged? I CAN'T special summon him using storm/wild tornado/whatever 🔥 used to remove pyramid of light.

Obviously a work in progress. I might swap out life boost for destiny draw and work in anti magic arrows somewhere

I agree. Sphere is still well in play. In both Gold-Legend I run into players often with multiple copies.

The fact that it doesnt work with storm really, really, REALLY hurts this card. Time to drop that rating down to 3. Easily the 2nd worst super rare in the worst box

Storm doesn’t work at all.. I’ve tested it.. I’ll use storm to take out pyramid of light while both of the Sphinx monsters were on my side of the field and it didn’t do nothin.. couldn’t Special summon this card like it says so this is a waste of a card smh

Don't bother with this crap lol, so much 🔥 and resources used just to summon 1 stupid monster that is easily taken by your opponent.

I used Storm to destroy Pyramid of Light with Andro and Teleia on the field. Nothing happened while Theinen was in my hand. A few turns later, I did it again, and it worked: I summoned Theinen from my hand. Can someone explain this to me?

I bet because you used a card like Twister, which doesn't make Theinen miss the timing, like Storm does once it makes the last thing to happen to have been your opponent's S/T being destroyed.
