  • Negates the activation of a monster’s effect when it was Normal Summoned. This includes your own monsters as well.
  • The player who has their monster’s effect negated by this card, can draw another card.

  • Not versatile to be used as it relies on Monster effects that trigger when it was Normal Summoned.

  • This card cannot be used to negate DIVINE beasts’ effects, as they have effects that restricts any Spell, Trap, Monster effects activation, during the moment they are Normal Summoned.
  • This card can be very challenging to use since the current meta emphasizes heavily on Special Summons.

Here are some monster’s whose effect active upon summoning that you can negate. For Example, negating Spellbook Magician of Prophecy can be annoying for a Spellbook deck, as they are denied a search and left with a 500 attack monster on the field

People are really dumb, this card makes it a joke to draw lots of cards if you know how to use it. Read the effect CAREFULLY, it's not when the monster being normal summoned has an effect, it's when an effect that activates when ANY monster is summoned, so for example you can have Slifer out and each time a monster is normal summoned you negate Slifer's destruction and go +1 (which actually makes Slifer viable)! Same thing for whenever we finally get King Tiger Wanghu.

Also things like Nuvia also get a nice bonus from this card where you summon Nuvia and go +1 as well without it getting destroyed.

Finally, another thing to note is that it's optional, so you get better control over it in case you don't want to negate the opponent's effects too much to give card advantage or instead you can activate it all the time on opponent when you can for slight mil effect.

The best candidate would be Wanghu, since Slifer doesn´t trigger with your own monsters, and negating the destruction of your opponent´s would be undermining one of Slifer´s main enticing assets, but a great analysis of the card overall.

We need more people like you in the game, dude.

Nah. The best candidate is Aurora Paragon, which we already have. Blocks Special Summons entirely, and with By Order of the Emperor, gives you a draw every time a monster is Normal Summoned, regardless of its ATK.

Also works well with Spirit Monsters like Otohime (or Yaksha, which I just realized we don't have yet for some reason) with on-Summon effects, since you can do it each turn.
I'm pissed, I got this in prismatic. Wtf i'm going to do with this card?

ofc i get a prismatic card that is never going to be useful, time to join judge man
Are there any negative effects that occur when you normal summon a monster? like a good monster with a drawback?

Boar Soldier, though it also has another drawback that still makes it useless. That's it at the moment. You could negate beneficial effects on things with decent stats, though, like Milla, Fenghuang or Royal Firestorm Guards. (The last one is particularly interesting since, being mandatory, it will activate even without enough targets, so you can negate it in situations it would be useless anyway.
What does these Monarchs thingy doing?
First Post!

Any situations where this would be useful?
