No, he is not affected by any spell card. Let us say your opponent has wonder ballons with 2 counters on it, when you summon silent swordsman Lv 5 it will have its original attack even if you opponent adds another counter to wonder ballons in its next turn.

He is also immune to monster effects for some reason. Couldnt destroy it w/ Snowman

your opponent probably used silent sword slash. It can be used even in damage step.

My friend said he couldn’t attack with him because an opponents continuous spell card on the field says no lvl 5 or higher creatures can attack.
Total BS this game is at times.
It cheats.
