Tips

Utilizing Tribute to the Doomed

Tribute to the Doomed is one of those universal cards that can be used in any decks. You can even take advantage of its cost that makes you discard a card and there are some combinations that works well with it. Here are some examples:

Hand of Nephthys

Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys

Magical Exemplar

The most common way to Special Summon Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is by using Hand of Nephthys. By using this card combination, you can immediately summon it and you can destroy 1 of your opponent's monster.

Summon Magical Exemplar first, you need to do this since you would like it to gain a Spell Counter once you used Tribute to The Doomed.
Use Tribute to The Doomed then discard Hand of Nephthys to your Graveyard to destroy 1 of your opponent's monster.
Now that Magical Exemplar has 2 Spell Counters on it, you can use its effect to Special Summon Hand of Nephthys from your Graveyard since Hand of Nephthys is only a Level 2 monster.
You can now use Hand of Nephthys' effect, tribute Magical Exemplar along with it to Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys from your Hand or Deck.

Kidmodo Dragon

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

One of the best way to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon is by setting Kidmodo Dragon on the field and letting your opponent attack on it. Now, even at your turn, by using Tribute to The Doomed, you can just discard Kidmodo Dragon from your hand to destroy a monster in the field and you can Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your hand due to Kidmodo Dragon's effect.

Simple effect with huge effect

Ppl need to realize that this being non-quick play means that it's not as OP as ppl think. Otc being quickplay is a HUGE plus.

What the..im done, this is insanity, free monster destruction for decks that utilize graveyard?this will shake the meta for sure.

Ehh, this is a good card, but not that good to an extent of shaking meta. It's basically a lowered-down OTC but cost you a card in a hand instead of your monster on the field.

OTC can't target face down, this can. OTC must sacrifice normal monster that on the field, this can use everything in hand as bullet.

You cant count 2-for-1 in current card set discarding do many plus things. So it is 2-for-1 (+??) e.g. send need card to be in graveyard and also special summon= 2-for-1 (+2)

Honestly this should be 9.5/10 for the sole reason so many decks like sending cards to the graveyard i.e red eyes, kidmodo, red lotus herpes, dark flare, bls with super synthesis
