Tips

Utilizing Tribute to the Doomed

Tribute to the Doomed is one of those universal cards that can be used in any decks. You can even take advantage of its cost that makes you discard a card and there are some combinations that works well with it. Here are some examples:

Hand of Nephthys

Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys

Magical Exemplar

The most common way to Special Summon Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is by using Hand of Nephthys. By using this card combination, you can immediately summon it and you can destroy 1 of your opponent's monster.

Summon Magical Exemplar first, you need to do this since you would like it to gain a Spell Counter once you used Tribute to The Doomed.
Use Tribute to The Doomed then discard Hand of Nephthys to your Graveyard to destroy 1 of your opponent's monster.
Now that Magical Exemplar has 2 Spell Counters on it, you can use its effect to Special Summon Hand of Nephthys from your Graveyard since Hand of Nephthys is only a Level 2 monster.
You can now use Hand of Nephthys' effect, tribute Magical Exemplar along with it to Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys from your Hand or Deck.

Kidmodo Dragon

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

One of the best way to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon is by setting Kidmodo Dragon on the field and letting your opponent attack on it. Now, even at your turn, by using Tribute to The Doomed, you can just discard Kidmodo Dragon from your hand to destroy a monster in the field and you can Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your hand due to Kidmodo Dragon's effect.

Dark Core is real similar. It can't target face down monsters, but it banishes. Between the two, Darck Core might be a little better. With so much special summoning and destruction protection, Dark Core will probably work more often.

Dark Magician Girl The Dragon Knight can do this during either player’s turn (discard 1 card to destroy a monster on the field). XYZ Dragon Cannon can do this with any card, monster, spell or trap card, which is probably fair since it’s really tough to bring out.

"you can place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card," Tribute will not work on pumpkin princess because it is treated as a continuos spell at the time

i have prismatic tribute to the doomed so now i will be able to beat ojama king if it's summoned on the first turn while getting free duel assessment. thank u komoney

Why does this card work on freed the general ? Not sure isn't he suppose to negate magic cards that target him ?

Because TttD doesn't target him. It only destroys.
