The text doesn't actually say "opponent's" attacking monster in game. It just says 1 attacking monster. This card SHOULD let you use it on your own monsters but it doesn't work. Either the game needs to fix the text or fix the card.
It's a trap card. Why would it be anything other than an opponent attack?

Does this card cancel the attack? Like if I activate this do I gain the health and the monster that attacked does not attack or the attacking monster or does it technically make it so I take 0 damage by increasing my health of the attacking monster and instantly loosing it when you take attack damage.
try it out, it doesnt cancel the atack, but it will heal you for the total atk damage, so if u have a defense position monster you will heal, if you got nothing on the field it will be like nothing happened
Enchanted Javelin does not say "opponent's attacking monster" on the card. It only did so on release; all errata since then have changed the effect to allow use on either player's attacking monster.
However, despite the confusing errata, the Japanese text says "opponent." This is one of those cards that runs via Japanese text despite the English wording of the card.
