KC Cup: 1st Stage (Apr 2019)

Stage 1 of the KC Cup will start on April 4th. You'll start the event with the Duelist Level based on your final rank of the Ranked Duels season 38 (1 Mar 2019 09:00 - 1 Apr 2019 09:00).

About the deck: It is normal amazoness deck we are playing for nearly a year and I think all of us hate it, but it is the deck that can beat nearly all decks in the meta right now.
The skill is parasite infestation that is why I am running jade insect whistle turning everything to insect shut down Dino and six sam decks nearly completely.

Canadia and flood gate are for obvious reasons but I used them wisely especially against six sams flipping the tuners face down.

Other traps: bad aim was useful against AG to make gear town miss timing and for rare cases when opponent has 3 monsters on the board to destroy one of them to make a room for the bug.
Wall of disruption in 2019, although it is a dead card against AG but against other match ups it catches peoples off the guard. When I built the deck I thought for a little bit to use gravity lash, but wall of disruption worked perfectly and it is somewhat unpredictable in this meta.

Dimensional prison: it is another insane card against Yubel (to banish yaksha and the third form) and six sam so they don't have the grave effects. I would have ran more if I had (unfortunately I only have 1)

Lava golem: to give your opponent the last blow.
Mother tiger: you can replace it for any thing you want, but adding amazoness monster increase the consistency of the deck and it protect the princess and prevent the OTK possibility. Tiger + queen on the board is very hard for opponents to break.

Last note: personally I am not happy using this deck, but you know Yubel and six Sams are everywhere on the ladder, and to be honest I didn't feel sad about them I only feel sad about how the game is right now. In the last three surveys I wrote to KONAMI to nerf parasite infestation skill to be used only if the deck contains 5 or more insect monsters of different names.

The skill Holy guard (Tea/Luna) is crucial to make this deck work. You spam attacks and banish all of your opponent's monsters with Ounslaught and not worry about a thing about cards like WoD or monster with higher ATK-DEF since you will not lose any LP(including attacking with Baby Tiger) which is a major weakness for Amazoness when I used the skill Endless Traphole with Odion (so I could recycle Ounslaught). Heirloom is another powerful card that I used if my Ounslaught was removed.

• No WoD because it just don't work anymore against the current strongest decks. Instead I only run 1 copy of Archers (searchable by Princess) which is my favorite play as my opponent will be forced to attack and all his/her monsters will be banished. You will just be wasting 3 slots with WoD. The key support cards are Canadia and Floodgate.

• I always left Queen on Defense position to protect her from threats like Drowing Mirror Force unless backrow was empty.

• Lava Golem is used to removed problematic monsters and/or finish your opponent if he/she is low in LP. If you have Ounslaught on field, you can still SP on your BP. I have Drowning Mirror Force for those decks that use direct attacks. These 2 can be replaced with any support card of your choice.

This Amazoness deck could probably be considered a budget version/alternative to the more common ones with more expensive cards. It is less consistent than the typical decks running bad aim, the wall of destruction and floodgate, but it has the benefit of a slightly better offense. If you can get a couple of solid hits in out the gate then your opponent will likely play more defensively, giving you a bit more stalling time.

Monsters:
The standard setup applies. I would have liked a cipher soldier to add and counter other amazon decks but I didn't get that till late in the tournament and most of the work was already done so I thought I'd see if I could keep the same deck throughout. Lava golem was more useful for getting rid of enemy problem monsters, for the most part, monsters resistant to trap effects mostly.

Traps:
Basically, any stalling traps you have. For more consistency against yubel and ag bad aim, floodgate and dimensional prison would have helped, but as I lacked those cards so I ran 3 canadias. Debunk helped stop yubel from summoning terror incarnate or ultimate nightmare but I found myself using onslaught to banish them more than i used debunk. Debunk was usually the discard card to summon queen with princess. Will power for obvious reasons, and adhesion trap hole was also usually discarded but is another good stall card against ag decks.

Spells:
Jade insect whistle to force parasite to top. I also used 2 copies of half shut; it was fantastic for dealing big damage against big monsters but keeping swords woman on the field. Probably my favourite card in the deck, and this replacement was the only one I think actually benefited me over the more popular cards.

Changes:
All of the stalling traps are replaceable, and I would have sooner removed a tiger and a canadia in favour of 2 floodgates especially to stall against yubel.

Gameplay:
Very standard amazoness deck. Use onslaught before they fusion any six sams and you're golden, or at the very least have a queen out. The extra deck was just to confuse the opponent if they are first.

Deck Strategy:

The cards in this deck are used to special/Normal summon one to three copies ancient gear reactor dragon or ancient gear wyvern to unleash attacks while under the protection of their respective effects.

Combo examples:

Using double cyclone while targeting your Geartown allows you to destroy an opponents spell or trap card and simultaneously special summon a copy of ancient gear reactor dragon or ancient gear wyvern from your hand deck or graveyard.
This can be used offensively or defensively, the same is to be said for wild tornado and ancient gear fortress however this only applies to the hand and graveyard.

Once ancient gear dragon has made an attack you may use its ability to destroy either an opponents spell or trap, or one of your own.

Targeting cards such as Geartown and ancient gear fortress will potentially allow you to special summon further copies for a multitude of attacks which can entirely reshape the playing field.

Pros:
Immense offensive capability.

Ignores most spell/trap and monster effects when attacking.

Simple to build deck.

Cons:
Can sometimes have a dead hand, although mostly reliable.

Better card options out there, I.e. Twister could replace Wild Tornado.

Commonly threatened by:
Yubel/Nephythis decks

Yubel is awkward to remove with this deck as it doesn't have much monster removal.

Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En

If Shi En is on the playing field it can be awkward to summon any of the key players of this deck due to the spell/trap negation.

The meta is full of SS, AG yubel and Dyno decks so I put some cards to counter those decks, I'm still missing one dimensional prison to counter yaksha and other Amazon's decks.

Note: Started with Masked Hero deck, then Dino, both took too many losses against Samurai. Since 7 out of 10 players play Samurai, a mixed version of Amazon Delivery with Banishing & keeping them busy with the "Kinetic Soldier" (for most its a surprise that he gains 2000 ATK against warriors, they just hit it). Only use "Lava Golem" if you can prevent the enemy to finish you within his next round, you can’t normal summon another monster to protect your LP! This deck wins mostly against any warrior related deck (Samurai & Masked Hero), also against Yubel, always puts a smile on my face when i tribute their Yubel for Lava Golem. Neutral to Ancient Gear.

For the new players i´d suggest a budget version (without or less canadia) by using „Jade Insect Whistle“, „Windstorm of Etaqua“ and „Curse of Anubis“. Have fun playing against the current meta, you just have to draw a good hand (quite consistent) and gotta remember the timing.

Six samurai was excelent decks, to broken with more consistency, i use many decks to counter, but this deck was working well with me. I reach max from dlv 18 with this deck, dino and yubel help me from dlv 10. This deck has good chance if going first turn vs six samurai. I was lucky, this deck is not good as you see. Weakness: yubel and some ancient gears, not much have i meet.

Made it to stage 2 with a self made anti meta deck. Climb was relatively easy. With so many 6 sams running around Cipher Soldier was the obvious MVP.

this is the deck I used to get dlv max in the April 2019 KC CUP. ONLY PLAY THIS DECK IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED AND CAN ANALYZE HOW TO PLAY VS EVERY DECK. This deck works against most meta decks just pace yourself here are some examples.

• vs Samurai's: Flood the board quickly as possible with Parasite Parasite using jade insect whistle or with Mithra it locks them out from any combos try your best to prevent a Shi En especially when you have no monsters on their side of the field. once you get a monster on their side of the field it gradually turns the table of the duel

• vs ancient gears: the back row was literally made to play against them just keep defense positioning monsters after you summon your lava golem. Keep count of the reactor dragons that can be used to tribute summon (in the deck or hand once they've been special summoned they can't use them to tribute summon any more aka a solid lava golem) so don't burn out your Mithra (I'm free to play if you have more copies sub the doomdog)

• vs yubel: focus on getting terror incarnate off the field or flipped faced down during the end phase so you can summon lava golem (i couldn't depend on Mithra because obviously I only have 1 so that's what you do when you don't have it) that's about all you need to worry about. Once SPON stops getting destroyed it's another sitting body waiting to get lava golem.

• vs dino's: I only played vs about 2 dino decks on my whole climb but parasite and flood the board

• vs Koa'ki Meiru: LAVA GOLEM SANDMAN FAST!

• vs Destiny Heros: This is the hardest matchup when you don't have back row ironically I had to play vs d heroes for my dlv max rank up.
