Does anybody know why does the 1st stage never end once the 2nd starts? To me it doesn’t make sense since it’s supposed to be the last 3 days where only the experts play... and I’m tired of playing it by then.

Not everybody wants to mingle with meta decks, and have to wait until the last days to have a real fighting chance. Like Roland says, never give up until the very end.
I definitely agree about giving everyone a chance, I'm just puzzled because they love to promote high-ranking players and stuff, so I didn't expect them to be so kind to non-meta users. I can't deal with the meta either but sadly by dv15 it becomes inevitable.
You clearly haven't played any real competitive game in your life. Duel Links is ridiculously bad competitive-wise, the skill floor and ceiling are the lowest of any competitive game I've seen. It's easy to get to KOG, the highest ranked tier, let alone stage 2 of KC Cup, where you can reach with aromages.
*sigh* and here we have the usual "badass" kid who brags about spending their whole paycheck to be able to reach "easily" kog. Go back and play with your lego, no need for you kids here.
To be honest why shouldn't Stage 1 stop? Kc Cup gives 50 gems just for playing 3 games in it. Like 3 days would be a loss of 150 and you are saying only the "experts" deserve it? Not Stage 1 where everyone can join and get the gems? (Some players don't even play the game on a day to day basis).
