Duel Links Metaphys deck, Metaphys in the current meta, how to use.
update 12/08/2022
Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation
Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation
DARK Dragon ★7
ATK 2800 / DEF 1000
Chaotic Soldiers [UR]
2+ Level 7 monsters
Once per turn, if you have exactly 5 DARK monsters in your GY, you can also Xyz Summon "Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation" by using 1 Level 5 or higher DARK Dragon monster you control as material. You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it, then banish 1 card from your GY, also, this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn.

Depending on how many materials you use to make this, it can use its card removal effect that many times in a single turn. The cost of having to banish a card is also a benefit since you can detach a material used to make this and banish it right away.

Since Metaphys Factor banishes your Metaphys during your opponent's end phase, going into Dark Armed to detach and banish it makes it faster if you need it to work during your opponent's standby phase.

Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
WIND Machine ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2200
Sign of Harpies [UR]
2 Level 7 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 2 "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0). While you control a Token, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster, then target 1 card on the field; destroy that target. This card cannot attack during the turn you activate this effect.

Can be a decent blocker or for a card removal, but you'll need all 3 monster zones for this to work properly.

Number C39: Utopia Ray
Number C39: Utopia Ray
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Infinite Ray [UR]
3 Level 4 LIGHT monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Number 39: Utopia" you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; it gains 500 ATK and 1 monster your opponent controls loses 1000 ATK, until the End Phase. You must have 1000 Life Points or less to activate and to resolve this effect.

Since you can only use Utopia Ray's effect when down to your last 1000 LP, he is best used to clutch the game. The ATK manipulation can help you get rid of a powerful enemy monster and deal massive damage. Keep in mind this effect can be activated multiple times per turn as long as you have the materials.

Number 39: Utopia
Number 39: Utopia
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Shining Hope [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Materials: Destroy this card.

Save Utopia in your Extra Deck and keep him there until you're ready to make Utopia Ray.

Abyss Dweller
Abyss Dweller
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1400
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Useful against decks that uses graveyard to extend combos. Recommended to activate it early before their card activates because chaining this card won't work.

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Malevolent Sin is an anti-Xyz tech. Summon Malevolent Sin and use its effect to temporarily banish an enemy Xyz monster. The Xyz monster will return with no materials attached to it.

Steelswarm Roach
Steelswarm Roach
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Roach is great for monster suppresion, much like a Trap Hole card. When your opponent summons a boss monster, use Roach's effect to immediately destroy it. This is an especially good counter against Synchro or Pendulum Decks. But most of the time, just Roach's presence on the field is enough to deter the opponent from making big monsters.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

Diamond Dire Wolf gets rid of itself along with any enemy card. Use this as on demand removal against a problematic card, or secure your attacks by getting rid of enemy backrow.

Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
DARK Rock ★8
ATK 2100 / DEF 2700
Infinite Ray [R]
Fantastic Arc [R]
2 Level 8 monsters
Gains 100 ATK and DEF for each monster in the GYs. Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card; until the end of your opponent's next turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects, also neither player can Special Summon monsters from the GYs.

Mostly only effective against decks that rely on special summoning from the grave, but it also has high DEF to be a decent blocker other than Decoy Dragon.

Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch
Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch
LIGHT Psychic ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 2200
Voltage of the Metal [R]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per Chain, during either player's turn, if 2 or more monsters with the same name are on the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; choose 1 monster among those with the same name, and destroy all other monsters with that name. While this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot Summon monsters with the same name as any of the monster(s) chosen for this card's effect. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can send 2 "Heraldic Beast" monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard.

For when you go against decks that use monsters with the same name effects like Harpies or Cyber Dragons. Having this on the field is crucial since it can shut them down pretty hard.

Number 28: Titanic Moth
Number 28: Titanic Moth
FIRE Insect ★7
ATK 2400 / DEF 2200
Shark Fang [R]
2 Level 7 monsters
If you control no other monsters, this card can attack directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand.

Can help finish off your opponent if you need some extra damage after using Tyrant Dragon or Cipher Dragon's effect.

Can you use spell chronicles from yubel lv up reward as substitute for gold sarchopagus?

Spell Chronicle only banishes S/T from deck

No, but in TCG/MD, you can use Spell Chronicle to banish Swordsoul Spell/Traps from your Metaphys deck to get tuner tokens to synchro summon with.

Dimensional Fissure is so good

It may be better than pre ascension build but it's still too slow for the current meta

yes its too slow for DL meta, need necroface and dimension shifter support soon

Metaqphys ragnaroc could help the deck a lot and wont cause too much trouble in duel links, like the cards you already mentioned.
Necroface is way too powerfull in duel links, due to the 20card format. None wants to play vs boring, stall deckout decks.

Im fine with necroface being limited 1 though. Currently metaphys can be OTKed with Kite Tenjo's 1 monster xyz summon

Aside from Soul Release, I've been using with quite the good success, Freed the Brave Wanderer, a lvl-up reward monster from Tristan Taylor. It's effect: "Once per turn: You can banish 2 LIGHT monsters from your Graveyard to target 1 face-up monster on the field with higher ATK than this face-up card; destroy that target." seems to come in handy quite a lot in prolonged duels. Of course, "IF" you don't get a terrible hand and first draw, many people just surrender when Deadalus pokes its head and banishes all their monsters >:D

This deck was really good before 2 years. I used it and hit kog. However, today, with the limit of aloof wolf has lost its power. In addition, vs a DDD is instant surrender due to their ridiculus skill that skips stand by phase. Freed is bad since you have to rely on a summon in a meta full of book of moons, treacherous etc. Soul release is a guarantee use and can also counter your opponent gy.

use necrovalley as the field spell, if opp cant destroy it prepare for a long 5+ turn gameplay

Not powerful, just annoying other player. They always surrender when I play this deck even their LP 4000

Maybe it's because a turn lasts about an hour
<< Anonymous(Dude)

It's always been a slow deck, but in the current meta it's just too slow and will often get you killed before you get the ball rolling.
<< Anonymous(GEMBELTZ)
Anonymous Reply
yeah because we want to play the game too, not just watch you play with yourself for 15 minutes and then concede. the only time ive ever lost to this deck is because i genuinely got bored and just wanted to hop into a different match
Anonymous
this is so boring to play against, and all the kids who use it are crazy toxic. for these two reasons, it should be banned :)
