You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell Card. During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it. During your opponent's turn: You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up from your side of the field; neither player can banish cards for the rest of this turn (this is a Quick Effect).

Pros

Self Special Summoning.
Disrupts banishing plays.

Cons

Special Summoning effect requires setup.
Relatively weak stats.

Tips

Lots of popular decks have some form of banishing so Artifact Lancea can prevent some plays. Some examples include the fusion spell Invocation which is run in many decks. Shiranui and Ritual Beast decks also do a lot of banishing as part of their core strategy. Finally, cards like Fortune Lady Every and Spellbook of Judgment won’t be able to use removal.

Double Cyclone

Can be used to destroy Artifact monster along with your opponent’s Spell/Trap card during your opponent’s turn, allowing you to Special Summon that destroyed Artifact monster.

Gigantes

Gigantes, when destroyed by battle, destroys all Spell/Trap cards on the field. This not only clears your opponent’s backrow but also allows you to Special Summon any Artifact monsters you may have set in your backrow.

One problem I realized that Cosmic Cyclone can banish this card, which doesn't trigger Lancea's effect.

Why bother setting it while you can activate it's effect on hand

Karma Cut and BE Twin Burst everywhere. But what deck the best put this into it, I wonder? I wish artifact got more support so we can make full artifact deck that can be rank 5 toolbox.

Is this card's effect need to activate in first or is it fine to active when opponent card's effect? Does it negate after it?

It does not negate the effect to be exact (some card gets their effect when a negate occurs so this is important). It invalidates the effect. With your question its ok to chain it. You can chain this to cosmic Cyclone for example and your backrow will not be banished.

I think you mean if this card is chained to a card with banish effect, the card with banish effect will resolve without any effect, essentially like activating a blank card.

As in, the card with banish effect still resolve, it's not negated, but nothing will happen.

Is that right, the first replying anon?

Yes nothing will happen since even if it is not negated, once lancea resolves banishing will be considered illegal for the rest of the turn. Another example is Black Whirlwind. Once a blackwing monster is normal summoned it will try to activate but if you removed the blackwing that was just summoned from the feild the effect simply does not happen even though it is not negated.

Candend

This card is amazing. It counter many cards; cosmic cyclone, chain disappearence, invocation, karma cut, fortune lady every, magician navigation (negate effect), superheavy samurai flutist (negate effect), cybernetic fusion support and many more.

Yes but decks that are strong without lots of UR/SR consistently gets nerfed by the banlist.
So I'm still very proud and satisfied to finally play a game where it's me who gives the one-sided beating to the those who don't have enough financial resources compared to me.
This is the type of game I was looking for.

So the commenters don't get confused, highly recommend you read this:

Lancea can stop banish costs if you pre-emptively use it and they can't perform that cost in the same chain link before Lancea resolves.

Lancea otherwise can be chained to effects that would banish and prevent the banishing PORTION of that effect. In that case, the effect is resolved as much as possible.

Lancea, if used pre-emptively in anticipation of a card that would banish as a PORTION of its effect, the opponent can't activate that card at all.

Yep, totally understandable. This mean if your OP pay the cost first by banishing ( for ex simoon), and then you chain with this card, SIMON STILL HAD ITS EFF ACTIVE since the condition has been fulfiled. For cards such as DMC, it cant be active since banishing is the part of the eff.
