Able to destroy 1 set card on the field. This includes monsters that are set face-down.
Cons
This is not a Quick Spell therefore cannot be Chained to your opponent’s card effects.
You needs to discard 1 card when you use this card.
Can only destroy face-down Spell/Trap or a face-down monster.
Tips
This card is very good if your deck revolves around discarding cards to gain certain advantages. Otherwise it can burden your resources in order to use this card.
This card is mostly used in Dark World archetypes decks because they can benefit from being discarded from hand to activate their effects.
The beginning of 1 of the Dark World deck combos is to discard Ceruli, Special Summon it to opponent’s field. Ceruli that was Special Summoned this way will force your opponent to discard a card from your hand.
During your standby phase, since you discarded this card to the graveyard, this card will appear on your opponent’s field in ATK mode (this is not optional unless your opponent’s monster field is full), you can either use it to clog your opponent’s field, or you can attack into it and deal some damage.
You can activate its effect of switching either your own monster or your opponent’s monster’s position right away from the graveyard. Face-down monsters are flipped face up. Using this combo will allow you to attack using Chaos Hunter more strategically.
When this card is discarded to graveyard, special summon it to the field. Along with Chaos Hunter, this move gives you 2 monsters on the field, ready for a tribute summon play.
Yeah maybe some people says "dark world is overrated, they're only tier 2". but this card is really usefull outside darkworld. theres a lot of cards that have effect when they're discarded, like fables (not yet in game).
