This card can't be targeted by your opponent's card effect.
It can Special Summon a monster from your Hand or Graveyard.

Cons

Stats are quite low for a monster that requires a 1 tribute.
You need to guess correctly the card type at the top of your deck and you need to send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon a monster.
It can only Special Summon a FIRE monster.

Tips

Know the card at the top of your deck

By using Mai's Aroma Strategy you can see the card at the top of your deck. Having this knowledge, you can correctly declare the card type so you can Special Summon a FIRE monster from your Hand or Deck.

Spellbook Organization can also give you the knowledge of the card from the top of your deck. It lets you see the 3 cards from the top of your deck and you can return it in any order.

I just got Hazy Flame Sphynx from the card trader earlier this day. I know with its effect it has a very high potential in pvp. To my surprise when I special summon monsters via Sphynx's effect it was placed in defense mode even I designated it into attack. I have many opportunities to win the duels if not only for the bug.

Hope it get fixed soon.

Great card but keeps costing me ranked games because it screws up nearly every special summon.

Could've been great with Aroma Strategy but the bug... I thought this was fixed already!! darn it

When are they going to fix this card's bug... I have a good deck but the bug just ruins it.

This card with Beast Rising is really powerful even with the bug. Beast rising dodges a lot of combat situation and target card effects while hazy flame can ss many of the fire beast/beast warrior cards with Mai's Aroma Strategy. As frustrating as the bug is the deck is still really strong!
