Once per turn, you can Normal Summon 1 Psychic-Type monster in addition to your Normal Summon or Set. If successful, place 1 Psychic Counter on this card. You can also place 1 Psychic Counter on this card instead of paying Life Points to activate any Psychic-Type monster's effect that you control. When this card is removed from the field, the controller of this card takes 1000 damage for each Psychic Counter on it.

Pros

Additional normal summon.
Eliminates the cost of using LP for all psychic monsters.

Cons

Each counter deals 1000 damage.
Damage is dealt when it's removed, not just destroyed.
Some of the cost of psychic monster's ability aren't 1000. This increases the damage you receive if it gets destroyed.
Field spells are often susceptible to getting destroyed since most spell removals can target field spells.

Tips

Use Magic Reflector to protect the field spell.
It's better to place counters slowly instead of going for burst, since people often run Twister which is a quick-play spell that can be activated during your turn.
Seal of Wickedness can be used to target the field spell, which will remove all the counters on it.
Planet Pathfinder or An Owl of Luck to get field spells faster.

Would Prime Material Dragon convert all that psychic counter damage to LP. If so it'd be really cool.

Doesn't work with Master Gig either, even if you have counters on Brain Research Lab. When you activate Master Gig's, you pay 1000LP and can destroy up to a number of monsters your opponent controls, up to the number of psychic monsters that are on your side of field (including Master Gig). Could be a bug, idk...

Is it just me or is this cards second effect not working? I still have to pay LP when using a psychic monsters effect when this is on the field. If anyone knows the solution let me know.

Yeah I already know that but the problem is the card doesn't let me use it's effect with any psychic monster, even at full LP. Anyone having the same problem?

Maybe u activate spell/ trap instead Psychic monster's effect while Psychic monster u control is face-up on the field. If not, then bugs

I think it only applies to certain psychic monster effects. You can’t use brain research lab for any psychic monster effect damage. I think brain research lab can only be used when a psychic monster’s effect damage is the price to use the effect not if the damage is a result of the effect.

Example: you can use Brain Research Lab with Master Gig, but not Armored Axon Kicker.
