Thunder Dragon monsters are able to discard themselves to activate effects which also sets up Thunder Dragonduo’s summoning cost. Thunder Dragonduo’s summoning in turn banishes Thunder Dragon monsters to trigger their second effects. Thunder Dragonduo is able to banish a Thunder Dragon after destroying an opponent’s monster by battle to trigger their effect then retrieve it during your opponent’s End Phase. Because of this Thunder Dragonduo is a good boss monster for the deck.
Aside from Thunder Dragon monster here are some other monsters that can activate their effects while in your hand.
