This page notes details of Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress (LIGHT/Spellcaster/Effect Monster) : decks, tips, effect and rulings. Learn and enjoy playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links!
You can target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; this card's battle position cannot be changed until the end of your next turn, also change this card you control from face-up Attack Position to face-up Defense Position, and if you do, destroy that target. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.
Able to destroy 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls.
Decent ATK stats.
Cons
Effect can be too slow to activate, and requires switching to Defense position.
Weak DEF stats susceptible to position switching plays. Requires you to discard 3 cards from your top deck to the Graveyard during each of your End Phase.
Tips
Generally her effects of destroying opponent’s Spell/Trap card are too slow compared to backrow removal cards that we already have in the current meta, such as Cosmic Cyclone, Nobleman of Extermination, and Gladiator Beast Bestiari’s effect.
Her effect also mills from your top deck, although it can help thining your deck, but you are not able to control this effect as it is a mandatory mill that may result in you decking out.
You can also choose to activate Forbidden Chalice during your End Phase, as a killswitch to stop the effect of sending 3 cards from your top deck to your Graveyard.
Synergy
Since Saffira’s effect activates during your End Phase as well, and it requires LIGHT monsters to be sent to the graveyard, Lyla can provide a good synergy as it will send 3 cards from your top deck to the graveyard every End Phase. Jar of Avarice can return 5 cards from your Graveyard back to your deck and allows you to draw 1 card. Pot of Benevolence can return a total of 2 cards from either player’s Graveyard back to their deck, and shuffle the deck.
A Field Spell that gains Counter for every “Lightsworn” monster sent from the deck to the graveyard, and increases 100 ATK of your “Lightsworn” monster for every counter on this card. You can also remove 2 counters from this card to protect it from being destroyed.
