How to Play

Fusion Enabler

D/D Swirl Slime
D/D Swirl Slime
DARK Fiend ★2
ATK 200 / DEF 200
Truth Universe [UR]
If this card is in your hand: You can Fusion Summon 1 "D/D/D" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand as Fusion Materials, including this card. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "D/D" monster from your hand. You can only use each effect of "D/D Swirl Slime" once per turn.

D/D Swirl Slime lets you Fusion Summon with himself and another D/D monster in your hand as material without using a Fusion Spell, This is your bread-and-butter combo. And then banish him from the graveyard to Special Summon a D/D monster from your hand, overall giving you great field presence with one combo.

  • One of the full combos you can do with Swirl Slime, if he is your only enabler, and two D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon on hand. Fusion Summon D/D/D Dragonbane King Beowulf and then banish Swirl Slime to Special Summon the Pendragon in your hand. This is a very powerful second turn play, but also an okay first turn play because you get to use Beowulf's effect during your next turn.
  • Another combo using the same cards Fusion Summons D/D/D Flame King Genghis instead of Beowulf. Make Genghis by using Swirl Slime with Pendragon. Banish Swirl Slime and Special Summon the Pendragon in your hand which then lets Genghis revive the Pendragon in your graveyard. This full combo is easier to pull off because it does not require you to use Pendragon as material, you can just have a Pendragon already in your graveyard.
  • These combos can be extended with Dark Contract with the Swamp King or D/D Nighthowl.
Dark Contract with the Swamp King
Dark Contract with the Swamp King
Continuous Spell
Truth Universe [SR]
During your Main Phase: You can Fusion Summon 1 Fiend-Type Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. You can only use this effect of "Dark Contract with the Swamp King" once per turn. If Summoning a "D/D" Fusion Monster this way, you can also banish monsters from your Graveyard as Fusion Material. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: Take 1000 damage.

Dark Contract with the Swamp King lets you Fusion Summon with monsters in your hand, field, and graveyard as material. It also stays on the field letting you Fusion Summon every turn. Fusion Summon a D/D/D monster with Swirl Slime, then use Dark Contract with the Swamp King to extend into D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok if you used Pendragon as Fusion material with Swirl Slime, or extend into Beowulf if you didn't.

D/D Vice Typhon
D/D Vice Typhon
DARK Fiend ★7
ATK 2300 / DEF 2800
Truth Universe [R]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Tribute 1 "D/D" monster; Special Summon 1 Level 7 "D/D/D" monster from your Deck. During your Main Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was sent there this turn: You can Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or higher "D/D/D" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your Graveyard, including this card. You can only use each effect of "D/D Vice Typhon" once per turn.

If you have D/D/D monsters in your graveyard, D/D Vice Typhon is a good monster to use as Fusion Material or effect cost. Putting her in the graveyard with enough setup allows you to make Beowulf or Caesar Ragnarok.

Fusion Monsters

D/D/D Fusion monsters have a variety of effects, and which monster you choose usually depends on the resources you have on hand.

D/D/D Dragonbane King Beowulf
D/D/D Dragonbane King Beowulf
DARK Fiend ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Truth Universe [R]
1 "D/D/D" monster + 1 "D/D" monster
If a "D/D" monster you control attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: You can destroy all cards in each player's Spell & Trap Zones.

D/D/D Dragonbane King Beowulf - This is the monster you will most often summon, make him by using Pendragon as fusion material. The piercing effect to all your D/D monsters is nice for pushing damage. The mass Spell/Trap destruction helps you OTK safely if you summoned Beowulf during a previous turn, and also keeps you alive by destroying your Dark Contract cards.

D/D/D Oracle King d Arc
D/D/D Oracle King d Arc
DARK Fiend ★7
ATK 2800 / DEF 2000
Truth Universe [R]
2 "D/D" monsters
Any effect that would inflict damage to you makes you gain that much LP, instead.

D/D/D Oracle King d Arc - The monster you will Fusion Summon if you need a beater but don't have Pendragon on hand. Similar to Beowulf it keeps you alive during your Standby Phase but in a different way. It turns your Dark Contract burns into heals, letting you keep your Dark Contracts on the field. Its also useful against burn decks, or some situations where your opponent puts a Lava Golem on your field.

D/D/D Flame King Genghis
D/D/D Flame King Genghis
FIRE Fiend ★6
ATK 2000 / DEF 1500
Truth Universe [UR]
2 "D/D" monsters
If another "D/D" monster(s) is Special Summoned to your field, while you control this face-up card (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 "D/D" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of "D/D/D Flame King Genghis" once per turn. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 "Dark Contract" card in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.

D/D/D Flame King Genghis - The best monster for swarming and combos very well with Swirl Slime. Fusion Summon him with Swirl Slime and then banish Swirl Slime to Special Summon Pendragon or Vice Typhon from your hand. Then Flame King Genghis can revive the monster you used as fusion material alongside Swirl Slime, best case its another Pendragon.

D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok
D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok
DARK Fiend ★10
ATK 3200 / DEF 3000
Truth Universe [R]
2 "D/D/D" monsters
Once per turn, when an attack is declared involving this card: You can target 1 other "D/D" or "Dark Contract" card you control; return it to the hand, and if you do, equip 1 face-up monster your opponent controls to this card, except the battling monster. This card gains ATK equal to the combined original ATK of the monsters equipped to it by this effect.

D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok - A really big beater that can occasionally be summoned by Vice Typhon or Dark Contract with the Swamp King with enough setup. Stealing your opponent's monsters without targeting is a good form of removal. Additionally it gives Caesar Ragnarok a significant ATK boost. Although it does have some restrictions to its use so attack into your opponent's weaker monsters to steal their stronger monsters.

Similar to Beowulf, Caesar Ragnarok lets you remove Dark Contract cards from your field avoiding their self burn. But unlike Beowulf, Caesar Ragnarok returns them to your hand to later reuse.

Synchro Enabler

D/D Nighthowl
D/D Nighthowl
DARK Fiend ★3
ATK 300 / DEF 600
Truth Universe [R]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 "D/D" monster in your Graveyard; you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Fiend-Type monsters, also Special Summon that target, but its ATK and DEF become 0, also you take 1000 damage if it is destroyed.

D/D Nighthowl can be used for extending your combos, swarming the field, and making comeback plays. After Normal Summoning Nighthowl immediately Synchro Summon using it and the monster you revived with its effect as synchro material. For this deck, you want to revive Pendragon or Vice Typhon with Nighthowl and go into D/D/D Gust High King Alexander.

Nighthowl does not negate the effect of the monster it revives, so you can still use Pendragon's backrow removal.

D/D/D Gust High King Alexander
D/D/D Gust High King Alexander
WIND Fiend ★7
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Truth Universe [SR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If 3 or more "D/D/D" monsters are on the field, this card gains 3000 ATK. If another "D/D" monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your field while this monster is on the field (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 "D/D" monster in your GY; Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of "D/D/D Gust High King Alexander" once per turn.

Here is an example of a situation using Nighthowl as a combo extender: Fusion Summon Beowulf using Swirl Slime and Pendragon. Normal Summon Nighthowl and revive Pendragon to make High King Alexander. If you are lucky enough to have another Pendragon on hand, banish Swirl Slime and Special Summon Pendragon, otherwise you can Fusion Summon using Dark Contract with the Swamp King and the D/D monsters in your graveyard. With your field full of D/D/D monsters High King Alexander gains his incredible ATK boost.

Searcher

Dark Contract with the Gate
Dark Contract with the Gate
Continuous Spell
Truth Universe [SR]
During your Main Phase: You can add 1 "D/D" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Dark Contract with the Gate" once per turn. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: Take 1000 damage.

Dark Contract with the Gate simply lets you search any D/D monster, good for getting play enablers like Swirl Slime and Nighthowl, or getting Combo pieces like Pendragon and Vice Typhon.

Generally you either want to get Swirl Slime or Pendragon, whichever you don't have on hand at the moment. Vice Typhon should only be searched when you have two D/D/D monsters in the graveyard and a way to get Typhon in the graveyard. Nighthowl is best searched when you are low on resources without any monster on hand, because his revival into a Synchro Summon your best comeback play. You can also search Nighthowl if you already have all your combo pieces, Swirl Slime and Pendragon, so you want a combo extender.

D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon

D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon
D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon
DARK Fiend ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2400
Truth Universe [R]
If this card is in your hand: You can Tribute 1 Dragon-Type monster and 1 other Fiend-Type monster from your hand and/or your side of the field; Special Summon this card. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; this card gains 500 ATK, then you can destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field. This ATK increase lasts until the end of this turn.

D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon has many qualities that make him a great combo piece, and warrant running three of him in your deck. Firstly he is a main deck D/D/D monster making him a great fusion material with Swirl Slime. He is the easiest D/D/D monster to put into the graveyard making him a good fusion material for Vice Typhon, Pendragon's own effect can also be used to put Vice Typhon in the graveyard. Being a D/D/D monster also helps activate High King Alexander's ATK boost. Lastly, being a level-7 monster makes him a great revival target for Nighthowl to make High King Alexander.

Beowulf might have a more powerful backrow removal effect but Pendragon's removal effect is much faster. That is why many of the full combos involve getting at least one on the field. It also helps that he has an good ATK stat and a self boost effect.

Removal

Dark Contract with the Witch
Dark Contract with the Witch
Continuous Trap
Truth Universe [R]
You can send 1 "D/D" or "Dark Contract" card from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Dark Contract with the Witch" once per turn. All Fiend-Type monsters you control gain 1000 ATK during your opponent's turn only. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: Take 1000 damage.

To effectively OTK, D/D Decks need a way to remove cards from your opponent's field. Aside from using Pendragon and Beowulf's backrow removal effects, Dark Contract with the Witch can also remove backrow letting you attack your opponent safely.

Treacherous Trap Hole
Treacherous Trap Hole
Normal Trap
Visions of Ice [SR]
If you have no Trap Cards in your Graveyard: Target 2 monsters on the field; destroy those targets.

Removing your opponent's monsters to push damage is also important and can be accomplished with Dark Contract with the Witch and Treacherous Trap Hole. Being Trap cards they can be used during your opponent's turn to disrupt their plays.

Dark Contract with the Witch also has utility outside of its removal effect. Its discard cost helps setup the graveyard for Nighthowl, Vice Typhon, Flame King Genghis, and can be used to trigger Vice Typhon's effect. The ATK boost during your opponent's turn makes your D/D monsters much harder to run over.

[August 2020] KOG Notes

Seagryfn

DDDSeagryfnDDD Seagryfn2
IGN: Seagryfn, Skill: Avenger & Doom Dragon, Date Submitted: Aug 23

Note by Seagryfn:

"With DDD, there are numerous useful skills; I used “Avenger & Doom Dragon” because I was leveling Kalin. This deck fares poorly against Shira and Blackwing, but they are less prevalent in the new meta than the previous several months, making DDD strong again.

Games rarely last more than 6 turns, as you usually win or lose by then. “Call of the Archfiend” helps if you got cleared fast (you can re-summon from GY during opponents attack), or, if you have High King Alex out, use both cards’ effects to get out 3 powerful monsters fast!
Berfomet can be called to hand using Dark Contract with the Gate; good if you failed to draw a monster in the starting hand. Use its effect with either tuner to synchro summon High King Alex.

Use Nighthowl to call Dragon King Pendragon from GY, then before synchro summoning High King Alex, first use Dragon King’s effect to discard Vice Typhon & take out an opponent’s back row card. After the synchro, activate Typhon’s effect in the graveyard to special summon King Beowulf, and Alex lets you call a 3rd monster from GY.
With 3 DDD monsters on the field, Alex’s attack rises to 6000. And with Beowulf on field, all your monsters do piercing damage! Dark Contract with the Witch lets you discard Berfomet or a level 7 monster that you can then summon from GY with nighthowl.

All of these are alternate ways to call from your extra deck besides the obvious Swirl Slime or Dark Contract with the Swamp King. I avoid Flame King because of it’s low attack, because Alex has the same power & more, and because your opponent can use a fire monster in your GY against you calling Invoked Purgatrio."

A post worthy of a stingy player who tries to convince himself that not making an effort to purchase 3 boxes is not necessary.

Try to help the developers, make some efforts, be a real man.

So, people who don't buy the same box 3 times are stingy?
LOL.

In that case I prefer not helping the developers and not being a real man.
That way I can save some money.

I'd say 2 runs doable get 2 slime and then 3 of the two SR contracts. Problem is this deck isn't top tier. So a bit of a waste unless you love the archetype.

I love DDDs in the TCG but this support is just... Pathetic, DDDs are a nonlinear combo deck with a focus on changing combo lines to deal with the opponent's deck in a meaningful way, this decks combo is telegraphed, linear, and underpowered. D/D/D combos in the TCG can end on different cards depending on the circumstance that you were put in by your opponent, Crystal wing+sigfreid for your classic opening board, Trish + crystal wing for combo decks, and their latest sponsor, King Kaliyuga himself. What does the DL version do? Big chonker pass, Konami should give D/D/Ds some actually good cards so they could either become a combo deck or a tempo deck, not this misrepresentation of a good corporate enterprise.
<< Anonymous(D/D/D fan)

Name a Duel Links meta combo which isn't telegraphed or linear?

The entire game is trying to pull off your combo on turn 1 whilst trying to stop your opponent pulling off theirs on turn 2. And most games are over by turn 3.
<< Anonymous

Yeah, that's why I like Due Links less now.

There is not enough contents to buy.
I'm still waiting for more cards to purchase but they refuse to let P2W players get the edge.
What is their problems?

this deck is bad it has no defence and with oracle or beowulf on the field during stand by phase you can quickly burn yourself to zero and with a lot of monster removal cards it happens

Instead of saying that make the effort of using your pocket money.

triple swirl slime doesn't make a difference when you just get your monsters banished, and dark contract with cosmic cycloned, then proceed to have your graveyard turned to skull servants ending the chance for a comeback play assuming you aren't swung for game right then and there, its fun but not competitively viable above platinum
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Your cards getting banished or changed to skull servant isn't an issue when you have multiple copies of them.
Like a Blue-eyes deck has less problem with a banished blue eyes if there is 3 copies.

Make the effort and buy another copies, it will not even cost as much as a fully priced pay to play game, totally worth it.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
it's comparing apples to oranges, blue eyes rarely uses graveyard and only on your turn to get BEAWD for re up. the D/D/D cards we have released to us you need to make half your plays by recycling graveyard cards for fusions or synchros, your solution of getting more cards doesn't help the issue that they can't be used to full potential before they get skulled by your opponent and become useless

Why is Konami releasing new contents instead of balancing the existing ones?
Are they stupid?

It's like those RTS games that keeps releasing new races instead of balancing the existing ones or fixing bugs, even when they already have 15 races or more.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Balancing existing contents means no one will buy them any more, whereas releasing new contents means more products to sell.

Balancing is bad for business since players don't like paying for non-P2W cards.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Not just that, if they just focus on balance: when they DO release content, it'll just break the game again and force them to delay releases further.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
You do realise that releasing new contents is not supposed to break a game's balance as you said.

New contents are supposed to be balanced as soon as they are released.

How do you think the other games manage to stay balanced even after new content releases.
