Skill Details

Can be used the turn you Special Summoned "Black Rose Dragon," while you control "Black Rose Dragon." Destroy all cards on the field.
This Skill can only be used if you begin the Duel with a Deck/Extra Deck that contains a total of 1 or more Monster Cards that are either Plant-Type or "Rose Dragon" monsters. This Skill can only be used once per Duel.

Black Rose Dragon effect activates on its summon. You can use this skill at anytime as long as it's on the field.

Not really. You have to trigger this one the turn you summon BRD, and not any later in the game.

The skill says Special Summon rather than Synchro Summon, sou you could potentially use the effect twice in a Duel with a single BRD if you manage to get it back from the GY. Also, the bonus of not being able to be negated since it´s a skill. The restriction is quite steep, though.

The difference is that the Skill is causing the destruction so it can't be negated

The only real perks I can see to this if I am understanding this correctly is that it is a skill not a card effect and Black Rose Dragon does not need to be Synchro summoned to use it. So that means no cards can be activated when you wipe the field with it and it would get monsters immune to effects. So if someone has a card immune to destruction or they are able to negate Black Rose Dragon’s ability you can then use this skill to clean house.

Yep, it bypasses every other mechanic in the game.

There are tons of cards not yet in the game that can summon and re-summon BRD from the graveyard fairly easy but until those cards make it to the game this skill is garbage

White Rose Dragon is great to revive BRD after it blows up the field, but it also requires you to Normal Summon it, so you better haven't Normal Summon yet on the turn you Special Summon BRD to use this skill.

Almost a pointless skill. This skill would be better if it just simply protected BRD from being destroyed by its own effect (protecting all your cards might be too broken.)

Yep. Or at least allow this Skill to be used anytime, on any turn, as long as you control a Synchro Summoned Black Rose Dragon.

Not just on the turn you Synchro Summoned BRD, that's utterly pointless. I'd just use BRD's own effect in that case, the result would be the exact same anyway.

This makes Black Rose Dragon's ability a lot more useful. You can get BRD on the field whenever you want, and if things start getting hairy, just summon a Blue Rose Dragon and activate Black Rose Gale. Blue Rose Dragon's ability will bring Black Rose Dragon right back to the field, so you can just nuke the entire field except for Black Rose for free.
It makes Black Rose Dragon's ability less of a Hail Mary and more of a tactical decision.
