A comment from Vlyoxunter:

Just made it into Top 100 EU and finished on point ! :)
So I only played this Red-Eyes (just changed tech cards e.g. the warriors and tried something like Sphere Kuriboh, Koa'ki ice, bad aim or 2x econ), felt like 3 Power of the Guardians is very important and there was just no space for Cosmic Cyclone after all and considering it's not so useful in some situations I just ignored the back row removal.

Retrodragon over Wyvern, because I didn't want to have "useless" cards in my hand (so also 3 Retro to have some kick out material for the insights and being able to use these searches to thin out even more) and no buster blader along with only 2 red-eyes b. dragon for the very same reason.

And finally the shield warrior for the very first turn in case you don't have other good cards in hand it's at least a good chance to help your slash survive to turn 2; this along with 2 swordswomen so I have a good chance of using them out of the deck for the fusion and if it happens I get them onto my hand, I can still surprise the enemy and this got also good synergy with power of the guardians (won my last duel only through the swordswoman & guardian power equip)

And Sealed Tombs is way better than beatdown (in this meta for sure) so I only used Ishizu and Sealed Tombs - however, I don't know why Crow was chosen by Konami to show up as my profile-icon in the rankings instead of Ishizu ;)

Hope you could reach your WCS goals as well and have a great day,

Currahee

A comment from Currahee:

I used these two decks. Metaphys is really good against the tier decks, only weaknees than it's a little slow.. When I survived the opponent's second turn, than I win the duels very high winning percentage. I had to change at one point, but it gave me a great boost. I recorded the statistics, the last day was over 64% victory.

I was in top 100 at EU before 6 hours end of the event. I went to sleep, and I set alarm for the last hour. I woke up and my 2000 points advantage has been 2000 points disadvantage. That's oke, just two win... I won the first, then lost the second. And there was 4 loose in a row... 2 win, lose 2... Unfortunately, it was not enough time to bring the top 100 back. So I dropped 41k to 35k in the last hour.

The current meta is very stable to be honest. I'm seeing a lot of different decks: Subterrors, Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes, Neos, amazons, buster blader, Synchro decks even fur hires.

Synchro decks are awesome, specially now that Black Rose Dragon is not limited to a Skill.

Stable what? Wait for the RRQ most used card list, most of the decks above will not even have a single card on the list.

Nero Reply
This is the best meta I've seen in a while. It all started with Dinosaurs and Neos Fusion, the game became more diverse since they were added to the ladder.

I'm just happy they made Steelswarms competitive.
Anonymous
Will they do a report on this like they do with KC cup to show which cards and skills were used the most?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Oh yes. Most definitely.

How did you do in the event? What deck did you use?
Anonymous
I believe Dkayed and many of the previous champions don't compete in order to give chances of topping the competition to new players.

The competition in Japan is really intense. All of the top 5 players have more than 100k DP

I believe that a lot of japanese playing this game are Hikikomori. They have all the time for gaming.

Not really, if competing during 3 days is too much time for you, then you have a problem.

On he other hand, making excuses to avoid your own mediocrity and failure in competitions is lame. You need to learn how to recognize others' success.

Has anyone decided to go sleepless for 3days for the WCS first place?

U need more than 1 player who knows the meta and how all decks works to make it to world's it's too much for 1 person to play all day.. i think everyone top ranked players did that

Subterror Final Battle is the scary card. The flipping cards not so much, Slugger or Armades own them.

I made 2nd stage with U.A’s. I’ve never made 2nd stage before in any events (been playing for a year), I was using an amazoness deck when I finally got the queen but I was getting totally 🔥 on lol switched to my U.A deck and went from DL 18-max. Is anyone else using U.As in 2nd stage?

I have them. But I didn't use them to get to stage 2. How many stadiums and penalty boxes do you run?

Everything in the WCS is either Ancient Gear Reactor, Neos and/or Red-Eyes Fusion, Six Sam or some other toxic 🔥. You either pay and play the meta or you lose. Period.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I'm playing Metaphys, Deskbot, Aroma and Madolche. And I win. Just because you don't know how to build a deck does not mean the meta is pay to win.
Tbh, it was way worse when geartown turbo was the best deck. Cause it was impossible to counter at the time. Not anymore.

Agreed. I had been facing red eyes and six sam for 90% of the match up. Although my anti-meta deck can win these losers easily, it is so boring fcing the same try-hards over and over again....
