Waiting for opponent's monster effects and gaining counters could be dangerous for you so it is better to use this card alongside your other monsters that can continually activate effects.

Eh, I don't know. You still risk a lot by having to summon it in Attack mode. Pity Konami didn't make summoning face up in Defense mode a thing in the TCG.

I'd like Karood a lot more switched to defense on summon and gained 1 counter in addition to its other effects. Oh well.

Minerva

Could just an introductory card to the Spellstone Archetype. The fact that this effect is pretty universal just made it that much easier for Konami to throw it in haphazardly.

This card was from late 5Ds era, as mentioned below by an anon.

We're in Vrains era and there's still no other Spellstone Counter card besides this card and one Trap card.

This is a late 5Ds era card......and it's even worse than DM/GX era card.

I seriously question what was in Konami's mind when they released this card....

It doesn't even work with Spell Counter supports since it uses Spellstone Counter instead for whatever reason, despite the mediocre effect.

If you just want a normal summonable monster with high DEF, regardless of effect, we already have some of them right now, a few having higher DEF than this card.
