So, let's say (for the sake of humor, at the very least) that Konami was going to retrain the Dark Scorpion archetype to a more modern style. What would you look for if you wanted them to be a fun rogue deck that could still hold its own while staying true to the archetype's original playstyle? I have a few ideas from Reddit, but I'm curious what others would seek. Can be for real-life or Duel Links, but what would you want the stats and abilities to be? I'd say they stay dark warriors, but might change some levels.

I like them staying the same levels other than maybe Gorg. Here's a version of Zaloog that could be interesting.

DS - Don the Fearless
Lv 4 1900ATK/1800DEF
Can special summon if you control as DS card, and adds a DS spell/trap from deck to hand on summon. Damage banishes a random from hand face-down or can banish face-down from the top of opponent's deck up to the number of DS cards on your field

Steal opponent’s cards. Like pick a random card from their deck and shuffle it into your deck.

Give them a decent Field Spell that either boosts their ATK by at least 500 or allow them to attack directly when you control a Don Zaloog.

They need also specific cards to search Don Zaloog and maybe a few more options to special summon their monsters quickly.

The terror of TCG is a wimp in duel links. Even with a 3x factor today, it is still out-skilled by the anime characters. Don Zaloog must join GX.

Tired of all those auto duel decks that the Ai can't pilot? Don't worry, the Don's got you covered.

This deck has only lost so far to Gem Knight because of how strong Prisimura and Citrine through Gem Knight Fusion is on turn 1... that deck is so annoying at times.

If we could get three of this, Dark Scorpion decks would be hilarious and definitely something I'd try out.
Maybe something along the lines of this?

I’ve been playing Dark Scorpions for a while but really like to use Gorg. I don’t use Spikeshield, I want to attack, not sit in defense, so I use other battle traps that help me destroy an opponent’s monster.

Kind of wish this guy, Camula and Amnael were legendry duelists with how they just skipped over all the shadow riders. It's not like the decks would be too difficult to make either. Zaloog would have a DS deck and could bring skills to support warriors and Scorpions swarming, with ROTA at Lv 45. Camula plays Vamps, supports zombies, and could have Vamp Sorcerer and Duke. Amnael could play a D.D deck, have skills supporting macro strategies, and bring Banisher of the Radiance (Lv 45) and D. Fissure/Macro.

Could be, but it seems a bit strange the we got characters like Blair, Sartorius, and Yubel without even mentioning the Shadow Riders. It would be kind of like if we immediately started on the Meklord in 5DS with none of the Dark Signers appearing first, or the Barians in Zexal. Regardless, I'd be very interested to see what they could bring to the game.

They don't follow the anime route its just random release or people just have to request for those characters on the survey more.

If they really want to release Don Zaloog as a character they could not release the second and third copies of him and save them for his unlock event. But sadly it’s almost impossible by now.

So if this guys was released as a Legendary Duelist, how good would a skill be that gave all Dark Scorpions and Don Zaloog you control an additional 500 to 600 Atk points, or make a field spell that boosts and could let you attack directly with them if you had three or more with different names for fixed damage (say, 800 or so)?Because let’s be realists, their stats are really weak. I wouldn’t mind a refrain of these guys as a good battle-focused archetype. Their cards have so much personality and I always liked the play style.

I made mine in October 2018 and it was waiting for Don Zaloog. In 5 days with the first copy it will gain its boss. Then the tag event will give one more spell card for me to complement it.
