Tips

Banish Options

Monsters that recur when they are destroyed and sent to the graveyard work well alongside Lair Wire. Resonance Insect has a lot of synergy with this card because you get to search when he is killed, and you can then mill an Insect from your deck when he is banished with Lair Wire.

these days, we cant even make a comment on a children's card game without someone losing their mind about validity behind an anonymous comment made by a random 🔥 person. What a world we live in

This card is just not very good (besides the artwork which I kinda like). It requires previous GY setup, it’s limited to destroying your opponent’s monster, and it can’t be used the turn you draw it, being a trap. It all adds up to being a card you really don’t wanna draw. Other cards we have already do the same thing but better (e.g. TTH) or faster (e.g. Offerings to the Doomed) and can be used in a greater variety of decks. I mean I wanted to like this card...

Sure you can, you can set this up if you draw this card along with an insect monster (preferably one that has an effect which triggers upon being destroyed/sent to GY). The only downside I see with this card is that it lacks versatility, as it only targets monster cards.

Select = Target. "Select" it's a obsolete term that was replace for target in the PSCT, but both have the same effect.
The question with "target/select" in a chain its not the effect of the target/select per se, but, what comes next or what should resolving along - it's the effect time activation...

As I already proved with Creature Swap, not every card that used "select" targets. Heck, Altar for Tribute uses that wording and sends the monster as a cost.

This particular card does target, though.

Just check Lair Wire's ruling.

I'm well aware. (And implied as such when I said Lair Wire's old enough not to explicitly say so.) That was in response to the ""Select" is consider "target"" thing, not the initial post.
