This card doesn't activates when opponent use Cosmic Cyclone and target one of my set or face up spells & traps.

Am I missing something here?

Cosmic Cycle is Ultra Rare and very expensive. This card Is just simple rare and not expensive at all.

Always keep in mind that more expensive card usually beat cheap ones.

CC doesn't destroy the card. It simply banishes it.

Here's my latest duel where CC is used but Curse of Royal not activated https://duellinks.konami.net/att/05ee34bd0ae8c28714154cbf4eba30fa5de5502acd (surrendered because I despise long af combos)

Sometimes it's not activating against other spell/trap cards that destroy my spell/trap as well.

Not a big fan of counter traps since they are quite situational. But this one seems to be quite useful because there are plenty of cards that destroy spells in the current meta.

Why doesn't this work on Divine Punishment?

The moment the enemy activate divine punishment put the card in face up position, am I missing something, mr.anonymous?

Just checked again just to be sure, try yourself: put curse royal the turn before, then the turn after activate a field spell, divine punishment will chain to counter it. Both the field spell and divine punishment are in face up position and curse royal should be put in chain link 3, but you can't. Please just answer the question if you know what you're saying, not just to spit your opinion.

I think I've figured out the answer. Curse of royal can counter only those cards that choose/target and destroy. Divine punishment destroy but probably doesn't choose/target.

its because of the phrase and if you do meaning the destruction effect is optional curse of royal only works on cards that always do.

So, this card doesn't negate Burning Land, even if there is a Field Spell active? Burning Land does include an effect to destroy a Spell Card.

I don't know to use this card since a spell card was activated and the card did nothing, anyone know how this card is activated??

I thought this card is like trap jammer and magic jammer combined and not limited to the battle phase. I was wrong. The wording of it is very misleading

Maybe YOU should read the card. It only negates if the spell/trap in question destroys ONE card, not multiple cards.

If it's an enemy 'twister' or spwll card, yes(picture),but this one also works for traps (such as the new 'Straight Flush' which destroys all 3 Spell and Trap card slots IF all 3 slots have a Spell/Trap card placed in Them)
So it's not necessarily better, but situational.
