Special Summons any Normal Monsters from your Graveyard to the Field.
Cons
Can only be used on Normal Monsters.
Monsters Special Summoned by the effect of this card cannot attack.
Tips
You can include Silent Doom in a Gemini-type deck, whereby you can use it to Special Summon Blazewing Butterfly from the Graveyard, Normal Summon it to use its effect to Special Phoenix Gearfried or Darkstorm Dragon from Graveyard, and they become Effect monsters and are able to attack. (Blazewing Butterfly was unable to attack when you use Silent Doom on it)
You can use effects to flip your Special Summoned monster face-down, and flip it face up again to “break” the ties with Silent Doom, enabling them to attack. An example of such effect would be Desertapir.
This card will be very useful in Synchro Summons format, perhaps in the future when it is released.
Recommended Monsters
The reason of reviving Elemental HERO Neos is because of its ability to Contact Fusion a wide range of Elemental HERO Contact Fusion monsters. Blue-Eyes White Dragon has enough Dragon-type support to mill it to the Graveyard for you to Special Summon it, even though it cannot attack, you still can choose to use Burst Stream of Destruction to decimate all your opponent’s monsters. Similarly, Dark Magician can be Special Summoned, to be follow-up with cards such as Thousand Knives, Dark Magic Attack, subsequently you can use Dedication through Light and Darkness to tribute it, and summon Dark Magician of Chaos from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard, thus enabling you to have a monster that can attack. As an defensive option, you can choose to use Silent Doom on Millennium Shield and Labyrinth Wall due to their high defense.
You can use Silent Doom on high Attack value Normal monsters such as Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Cosmo Queen, subsequently Tribute them to summon Great Maju Garzett, which will in turn receive Double of the Attack Value.
Since you will most likely be revolving around Normal monsters in your Deck with Silent Doom, you can opt to include more Normal Monster support cards. Birthright grants you more flexibility to Special Summon Normal Monsters from your Graveyard, without the side effects of Silent Doom. Soul Resurrection is basically a Trap Version of Silent Doom, so you can activate it during your opponent's turn.
The monsters Special Summoned by Silent Doom’s effect are unable to attack for the rest of the duel as long as they remain face-up on the Field. You can still change their battle position.
This card might finally get it's time with Synchros. Very useful for reviving normal tuners, and better than Powerful Rebirth in situations where you don't want to increase the tuner's level.
