Using a Cerberus deck can be risky sometimes since enemies might not deal 1800 damage. It's recommended to use draw sense LIGHT if you ever obtained it.
If you get first turn, and you have Abyssal Designator, you can use it to ensure you can activate the skill on the next turn. Otherwise, you'll just have to get attacked normally.
Yugi will most likely power up his monsters to above 1800 ATK so using Abyssal on first turn isn't always necessary.
Yugi will often summon either Silent Magician or Cerberus, any of them will probably get powered up to a high attack. If he summons another monster then you will likely not survive. It's recommended to either use Murmur of the Forest on whichever one is buffed, preferably the Cerberus, or set a Ready for Intercepting to prevent 2 monsters from attacking.
Once you get your bearings, summon your Cerberus and quickly use your spells to increase his attack before Yugi increases his Cerberus.
If you have Gravity Axe - Grarl, make sure to use it instead of Book of Secret Arts. This will lock his monsters in place and preventing Yugi from using Wonder Wand for extra draws.
Those two cards are the best to deal with Yugi Muto's Mythical Beast Cerberus and Silent Magician LV4 before they get out of hand. Once they get their battle position to face-down from the effect of Murmur of the Forest and Ready for Intercepting, they will lose all placed Spell Counters.
Since Yugi has 3 Cerberus, there's a good chance he will summon it before you. Even if he summoned it after you, he can still catch up to the number of spell tokens that you have because of his Spell Power Grasp.
If you have Murmur in hand, use it immediately even if you don't have the field spell card. It's better to shut it down and lose a possible spell counter instead of getting your Cerberus destroyed.
If you don't have Murmur, use Ready for Intercepting when his Cerberus is about to attack. This is because he still uses spell cards during main phase to buff up his Cerberus before attacking.
Yugi Muto has Magical Blast. If your LP is low, he will start to aggressively use the spell to decrease your Life Points to 0. To avoid this, use Supremacy Berry or any other healing cards that you have to stay at high LP. You can also use Gravity Axe - Grarl once you flip his monsters to face down by using Ready for Intercepting or Murmur of the Forest. Without any of his face-up monsters, he will not be able to use magical blast.
If you want to use Abyssal, use it on your last turn to make sure that he doesn't tribute a monster and use magical blast.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Gravity Axe - Grarl | A more expensive version of Book of Secret Arts. This will lock your opponent monster's position so they can't switch after being flipped face down from Ready for Intercepting or Murmur. |
Dark-Piercing Light | This is useful in the last turn so you can flip multiple enemies to be able to use the 2 Murmurs. |
Hieroglyph Lithograph | Alternative to Abyssal to lower your LP on the last turn. |
