  • Can weaken your opponent’s monster.
  • Quick-Play Spell makes it useable in many situations.

  • A minus one when used outside of battle.

  • Use this card during battle to weaken your opponent’s monsters.

Similar Effect

Here are some other cards with similar effects. Use them when your opponent attacks into your monster. Weaken the opponent’s monster so it is the one destroyed during battle.

Reverse Trap

Use Shrink on your own monster and then activate Reverse Trap. Instead of halving your monster’s attack, it will gain attack equal to half it’s attack.

What are the reasons to play this over hallucigenia? Actual question and not sarcastic

1. Quick play spell. No worries of back row removal. Can use in the same turn you draw it.

2. Good against anti trap/ jinzo deck.

Jinzo/anti-trap decks, but you should probably just use the Paleozoic instead.

you can still put hallucigenia

3 of this and 3 hallucigenia then BAM you are king of game

Simply because its effect can be applied immediately, it does not require setting.
Half the original atk... hmmm...
So, if my Wildheart has 2500 atk points with an Axe of Despair equipped, then ... does it mean it would go back to 750 after being affected by this card?

'Original ATK' is halved... So 1750,as Axe of Despair isn't affected.
reverse trap? really

The best bit is that combo doesn't even work. Shrink doesn't reduce ATK, it just straight changes the value of your original ATK. (It doesn't make your Blue-Eyes "lose" 1500 ATK. It makes its original ATK BECOME 1500.)

No, the best part is that the text of Reverse Trap itself states that halving is not affected by Reverse Trap.
Good card. Quick spell are nice
Here’s the thing about shrink
Quickplay so can be played at any time
Unlike traps you have to set to use which if they first turn jinzo or cosmic or galaxy your trap before summonthe trap is useless
Unlike super rush this allows you to damage your opponent
Where rush stalls
Most monsters beingused aren’t buffed that prevents this reduction.
The top decks will be affected by this card.
Also can add to more defense
Paleo cards
Super rush
Good game

Also as said cards immuned to trap cards this is another work around
Only monster in game immune to spells that’s used is silent magician decks. So obviously it’s useless there
It’s a good tech at 1-2 definitely not a 3 in deck card though
First ur in new box
Thx konami...
Pretty much a worse version of hallucigenia

Well yes and no, trap cards can't be activated in one turn and there's a few monsters not affected by traps, also if you run TTH it won't ruin it.
However they are a few cards that aren't affected by this card too...

- Only half original attack
- Only reduce attack so it can't be used against high def monster
- Can't summon a monster like hallucigenia

Even gravity lash has almost the same effect and it is a minibox R.

Shrink and Gravity Lash both should have been SR IMO. Shrink definitely shouldn't have been UR. (Or it should have been released as an UR earlier, one of the two.)
Eh, I can only see people using this well with burn decks that have swordwoman. halving her attack and swinging would always be a good idea + you can use on opponent sooo.

Depending on the stats, Gravity Lash could be better and it's just SR.

I believe gravity lash is a R
Why this card is even Ur when we have Mirror Wall A much more stronger Card
<< Anonymous

This is a QUICKPLAY SPELLCARD! You can active on your turn, not affect by Jinzo, can chain to any card removal effect. Only downside is half ORIGINAL attack.

So is gravity leash which no one plays

And also can be activated during damage step.
Even Mirror Wall seems better
all we need now is crush card virus
This is likely to be the New Canadia, Drowning Mirrorforce, Floodgate, Hallucigenia. TOP tech.

Don’t start spamming trash agian you know this card is just mediocre I don’t get why you spam every mediocre card calling it good and cry when people tell you it’s bad

We already have gravity lash. Granted it's less consistent than this.
