When you take battle damage while you control no monsters: Gain LP equal to the battle damage you took, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Malus Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF ?). Its ATK and DEF are each equal to the amount of LP you gained by this effect.

Cons

Only works if you take a direct attack while your LP is higher than the attack and when there are no monsters in your field.

Tips

Pair this with cards like Enchanted Javelin to ensure your survival
Field spell Yami will always make the token have higher attack than the attacking monster due to token monster type

How do you get Malus Token?

favorite card to combo with Enchanted Javelin and Rising Energy. Opp attacks, activate Rising Energy to increase opp monster's att, activate EJ to save your life points, then GA to restore the LP you just lost, plus have a monster with 1500 att more than your opp's monster. Even better when it's their strongest monster.

another option is Rising Energy, 2 Golden Apples and Aquachorus. 2000 attack and defense more than your opponent's monster

It's weird for me while resprawns could use two or more The Golden Apples and I couldn't do that. Please tell me how to use it twice in same time.

I want to be able to chain this card like the NPC does, but when I went into settings, as someone else suggested in the comments, I don't see the option to change it.

When you doing the duel, go to setting at right top corner, where you can also to surrender the game, go to setting, change the chain setting to ON

The only downside is that you would either have to draw this card on early draws, or maintain sufficient LP to survive the next attack.

Why cant i chain two copies at same time while auto duel can .. everytime !! Wtf is this i always auto duel before i use both i need to chain both in pvp !

Go to settings: there's an option to change the chain settings there. Set it to allowing you to chain to self (something along those lines).

Yeah, half shut basically destroy this card as it resets it's attack to 0 after the end phase. Seems like a glitch.

Not a glitch, but a complicated ruling. Basically, when a card effect sets a monster's ATK to a new value (NOT something such as "decreate/increase ATK", but rather something such as "ATK becomes/is X" (such as "halved"), once that effects ends, the monster's ATK gets returned to its original state WITHOUT any applied effects (except for continuous ones, I believe).

But the effect that grants the Malus Token its ATK/DEF isn't a continuous effect: that effect only gets applied upon the resolution of The Golden Apples, after all. So, that ATK/DEF gain stops affecting the Token, thus its ATK/DEF become 0.

The weirdest thing happenned today. I attacked with a BEWD and the guy used this card. Next turn he equipped Garl Axe making the token attack 3500, he proceeded to attack me and I used Half Shut at him. Then my turn, its attack should return to 3500; oddly enough it went to only 500 (0 + 500) of the equip card. What happened? I just attacked it and won the duel

here the explanation : the token's original atk is ? =0, so after you activated half shut that token's atk would be reseted to 0..

But Half Shut doesn't say a thing about "return to its original attack"; only says: "... ATK is halved until the End Phase". Besides, Malus Token original ATK is "?" not "zero"
I still think that it is a programming flaw

Tip: Use Reinforcements on your opponents Monster when it attacks. Then activate golden apples

I use that combo all the time. It's one of the better ways to get your token stronger than your opponent's monsters outside of yami

i lose so many times coz of this damn card used by opponent,, should be more careful and attack with less dmg monster 1st
