Once per turn: You can banish 1 "Metaphys" card from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. Once per turn, if your "Metaphys" card in its owner's possession is banished: Apply this effect depending on whose turn it is. ● Your turn: All monsters on the field lose 500 ATK/DEF, except "Metaphys" monsters. ● Opponent's turn: Change the battle positions of all monsters on the field, except "Metaphys" monsters.
Debuffs all monsters on the field except Metaphys monsters.
Changes the battle position of all monsters on the field.
Debuff and battle position changing effect cannot be chosen and activates depending on whose turn it is.
Can debuff your non-Metaphys monsters.
Asymmetaphys' effect will also trigger if a Metaphys Spell/Trap you control is banished.
The battle position changing effect of Asymmetaphys can sometimes save you from OTKs against decks that like to banish, the Debuff effect lets you attack over stronger enemy monsters.
Both effects are good but relying solely on your Metaphys card's banishing effects, usually happening during the next turn's End Phase, can be slow. You can use these cards to banish your Metaphys monsters and trigger Asymmetaphys' effect to your choosing
Banishing a Metaphys monster with Asymmetaphys doesn't actually feel like a cost because they will be more useful in your banish zone than in your hand. Most Metaphys monsters activate their effects by returning to the deck from the banish zone.
Metaphys Tyrant Dragon is a good cost for Asymmetaphys' first effect because his effect allows you to Special Summon a Metaphys monster from your hand which in turn triggers that Special Summoned Metaphys monster's effect. The Metaphys monster will then be banished triggering Assymetaphys' effect.
