I wouldn't say it's necessarily a bad card although I'm still hesitating whether to put it in my deck, what would you suggest since I have a mainly defensive deck I'd love to have a level 4 card that's defence is 2500 yet, the effect makes me slightly doubt that the card is as good as I thought. Again if you have any tips on whether or not to use this card I would greatly appreciate it, thanks! Have a great day!

Don't use it. It's terrible. Build an archetype themed deck instead.

But if you really really want something that you can summon reliably and has 2.5k DEF, go for Statue of Anguish Pattern.

Use Steel Calvary of Dinon. It has good attack and the same defense as Big Shield Gardna. It's also searchable with Giant Rat and Fossil Dig and infinitely recyclable as a Pendulum Monster.

Actually Giant Rat does not search Steel Calvary but Dragon Dowser does.

When a broken card gets released and nobody realizes how broken it is, is the card still broken?

Many good cards are being released. 2500 DEF and doesn't switch to atk position, looks slightly better than Big Shield Gardna

Yes,however, you take all battle damage from battles with this card, and if you take battle damage, the card will come back to the hand

As much as it pains me to say this, this card is straight up garbage. your opponent will just attack into it with low attack monsters.

If used with spirit barrier or skill drain, then yes it would've just been a big lv4 wall
