Why doesn't the destruction of my opponent's Red-Eyes Slash Dragon's equipped Warrior-type monster trigger my Chain Whirlwind?

I attacked him with a monster's effect to destroy the Slash¨Dragon, he chose to send the Warrior-type equipped card to the GY. I assumed this would trigger the Chain Whirlwind but it didn't. Why would that be?

Send to the GY is not destroy.

Sometimes the game bugs out, i.e. the effects of some cards won't activate, no matter what (until the devs notice and fix the bug, e.g. the monster card "Pathfinder" didn't use to work, until recently).

You're just adding unnecessary irrelevant information, the first reply already answered it correctly.

And I'm very sure the "Pathfinder" card you're talking to was already fixed like, months ago. It's not "recently" at all.

combine this with Vermillion to destroy 1 monster + 2 spell/traps.

This card works well against and even with Archfiend, Six Samurai, Golden Flying Fish, Monarch. Especially Golden Flying Fish which relying on destroying monsters and spell/traps with card's effect.

Requires something to be destroyed by a card's effect first.

Does this card work with storm ?

If, you had this card on field and you're not activating storm, then your opponent uses storm and doesn't target this card, then you can activate it... If there is 2 spell or trap remaining after storm activation, that is... So it's not good, try using tribute to the doomed
