so...if you attack monster that is protected by ssa and pay 500 lp does this card still destroys the monster?

I suppose it is. If you pay 500 LP, this card will not be destroyed by SSA and it proceed to damage calculation. Provided you have more ATK, this card will win.

Typical card paired with SSA currently is Citadel Whale and Fisherman II, which will have 2550 & 2400 ATK respectively if ALO is on the field.

This card may need a boost from Palabirinth or anything, to overpower those two in battle.

If you use it with Beatdown it would get over Whale and the like, but then you're sacrificing Fiend Farewell or Restart. Might be a decent option.
