Ahem...

Imagine you equip Sonic Shooter with Twin Swords - Tryce. Sonic Shooter now has 800 ATK.

You may now attack directly two times, each time hitting for 1300 damage (Sonic Shooter's original ATK).

Thumbs up for being one of the few who "gets it"

When does the effect work? I thought if he was equipped with a card - let's say black pendant - and he attacked your opponents LP directly, the battle damage would be 1800 and his new base attack would be 1800 and with BP it would be 2300. How does it actually work?

It states that the original attack of the card 'becomes' the battle damage that was inflicted, literally meaning that the original attack should become the battle damage that was inflicted. If it said that the battle damage inflicted is equal to the cards original attack it would make sense. Either the cards written wrong or it's implemented wrongly in the game.

Although, now i think about it, it could also be interpreted the other way. The wording is awful either way.

No, it does NOT say the original attack becomes the damage inflicted. It clearly says the damage inflicted becomes the original attack. "When it does, any Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent's Life Points becomes the original ATK of this card." None of you would be confused if you'd stop reading the effect backwards.

The word "becomes" seems to be what confuses people the most. Just think of it this way "anytime you attack directly, the battle damage will always be the original attack of this card" that is the easiest and best way to read this.

So if you use two Of these, and use the UR card that halfs the attack and then gives the other half to another monster (sorry I don't know the name) then once that spell card is removed from the field and you're able to attack the opponent directly would the monsters attack increase?

If this card worked how you keep reading incorrectly, then this card would be level UR. Sonic shooter does 1300 damage if it attacks directly. So if you add "black pendant" the monster increases to 1800 attack but if it attacks directly, it still does 1300 damage. If you equip twin swords of flashing tryce the attack decreases 500 and if it ATKs directly can do 1300 damage twice. Get it?

Riryoku is the card your thinking of. And I'm not positive, but it seems that if you used riryoku and attack them directly, using his effect to do so, he would not have a gain to attack points. But say, like above, you used twin sword;instead of dealing 800 twice you still deal his original attack (1300) twice
