If you really want to summon Slifer, try to use monsters that special summon themselves instead, like Bubonic Vermin, Troop Dragon, and Hyena. Put a few traps that can turn into monsters to help you (Embodiment of Apophis, Tiki Curse, Swamp Mirrorer). Finally, get Double Summon or Arrivalrival for an extra summon. The truth is Slifer just isn't an easy card to play, more so if you don't focus.

Don't listen to that aquablast guy!
20 cards is not better then 30 cards 20 cards is better for some meta strategy types like Beat-decks.
If you need proof google search yu gi oh probability calculator.
You'll actually find that your start hand has a better probability balance with 30 cards and your drawing probability after that is slightly lower does not mean worse

3 same undrawn cards, 1st card (25 cards left is 12% / 15 cards left is 20%) and scales each draw to (5 cards left 60% / 10 cards left 30%)

3 same cards but if you use a lot of card combos with many cards that help all the other cards
Then the chance of drawing unwanted or unhelpful cards becomes almost nothing

Running an Alien deck and am wanting to know some good counters for Sylvan. They seem to be like the only deck that can beat mine and are more frequent the higher up I go in KC Cup

Yes. Even if you're attacking, you can apply Forbidden Chalice during damage step... that should negate the Sylvan's effect. Forbidden Graveyard could work too... but it would be a dead hand against most other decks. Plus you have to discard 1 card and it only works for 1 turn? Too situational and costly, if you ask me, though I suppose you'd completely neutralize the Sylvan player for that turn.

I run sylvan and find 9 out of 10 times aliens will destroy me, from my previous encounters with aliens I would say just get as many counters on monsters as possible. Ultimate providence is a good card to counter effects.

Honestly I don't see why every one complains about sylvans, I lose just as many as I win with them.

Except Aliens shouldn't be able to put any counters on you during their turn. The classical Sylvan opening move is to set a monster, probably the shroom/Magical Merchant/Rose Lover, and set monsters can't have counters on them, which means Aliens can't use most of their abilities. I think you're just not used to playing Sylvans, or perhaps you're playing an unorthodox Sylvan deck.

maybe, I find usually once a guardioak or hermitree is out on the field that's when counters start being a problem

Trying to run a Sylvan deck, just have three questions.
What is the best skill to use?
The deck I am running has three spell and trap cards and gets wrecked hard by other spells and traps, any advice?
Would I be better off running more than 20 cards to add more spells and traps and higher level monsters? currently run 4

Restart seems like a good skill. If you're feeling daring, Mai's Aroma Strategy might be interesting. If you're having trouble with defensive S/T, then you might want to use cards like Anti-Magic Arrows or Hey, Trunade, and make sure you have 3 Shrooms and 3 Rose Lovers.

I don't think adding more cards is a good idea. The thicker your deck is, the less likely you'll draw what you need when you need them. It's impossible to counter everything anyway, so it's better to make sure you're good at what you're supposed to do.

I'm pretty sure Alien is cheaper. Most of the Alien key cards are R rarity, while at least two of the Sylvan key cards are SR (namely Sylvan Komushroomo and Rose Lover).

Not to mention Abyss Encounter (the box with aliens) also has Sea Stealth Attack, one of stronger cards now. If you get lucky you might be well on your way building a strong water deck too.

Did you guys re-rolled the game even once lately? I have, out of curiosity. As a beginner you start with around 4.5k gems, 3Sr and 2 Ur tickets. He could've bought half the box and be lucky. As for the AMA, you can pick it with a ticket, his other 2 he probably picked econ, and by clearing the Mokuba bingo he got a third.
The give an answer to the OP; Mind scan or Holy guard as your skills.

Excuse me for not being a botter/modder with brand new accounts every week. As I'm a veteran myself, I just stayed honest and did NOT wildly assume that newbies nowadays can have that plentiful of resources upon starting/resetting the game. Good for them, I guess.

What's the easiest and fastest way to grind Destiny Draw? I'm playing with semi Dark Magician deck and until Arkana is available I'd like to use Destiny Draw. Any tips?

I got it after grinding casual duels last week. It usually drops skills as a reward every 10-20 duels. So the trick is to have a decent competitive deck as Yugi since you get more rewards for winning a duel, increasing your chances. It’s easier to do this when you are ranked platinum or lower due to a lot of people playing “auto lose” decks which is a win-win for you, and you will face less meta.

What about from legendary duels? Is it possible to get it from level 10?

This deck is for trolling casual by putting all the pieces of Exodia in your opponents hand for a self-OTK. So far, my strategy is to use Gift Exchange to search my deck for the pieces to add to the opponents hand. Graceful tear and exchange is used to put the pieces from my hand to opponents hand. Any suggestions for this deck?

Use good goblin instead of jar of greed. How about adding dark mimic lv1 and keep it alive for one turn
