This is essentially the monster version of the spell card De-Fusion.

could be decent if you summoned it using a hex-type monster, since you could use MPC'S effect to return both monsters you used for fusion(not specific), and then use the hex to fusion summon next turn.
But other than that i can't see much more use

If you trigger Multi Piece Golem's effect without having both Big Piece Golem and Medium Piece Golem in the graveyard he just goes back to the extra deck and that's it. Also if his effect wasn't the last thing activated you can miss the timing on the summoning. Without main phase 2 his effect is pretty weak.

Edit: Actually it turns out that it will only work if you use Polymerization to create him, if you use the Hex-Fusion his effect will just be a dud.

Gee, it's almost like The Earth - Hex-Sealed Fusion doesn't perform a Fusion Summon or something...

Lol yeah, reading is pretty hard I guess. Took me some trial and error to figure out why he wasn't spawning the materials.

Honestly to this day I still don't get why the materials are just Big Piece and Medium Piece, despite its appearance having Small Piece's color as well.

This card should be limited! It can be returned to the Extra Deck at the END of the Battle Phase! So fantastic!
