If this card was Tribute Summoned by Tributing a "Gadget" monster, it can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If an "Ancient Gear" monster you control attacks, until the end of the Damage Step, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards, also monsters in your opponent's possession cannot activate their effects.

This card would have been better if the multi attack effect is from tributing an AG instead of a Gadget.
Useless, weak for level 7. Would be okay if level 6. But attck just to low for lvl 7 monster and doesnt have trap protection. Removed from my ancient deck.

Protection -> destruction

Umm, yes it has protection against spell/trap. Even better in fact, it also has protection against monster effect.

And it has the best protection among all AGs in the game, since it applies to itself AND all the other AGs you control. This means Frame can now avoid monster effect, and Wyvern can now avoid backrow.

Hydra's last effect is separate from the effect that requires you to tribute certain monster. It will always apply even if you SS Hydra off Geartown instead.

Also, 2700 ATK, 3000 if Castle is up, is not low at all for a level 7 lmao

Most level 7 in the game actually has lower ATK than Hydra, 2700-3000 ATK is usually level 8 territory.
Don't sleep on this card, the last effect applies to all face-up AG monsters you control. This means Frame can now avoid monster effect as well, and Wyvern can now avoid spell/trap as well.
This card is awesome
if we had the gadget monsters this card would be busted
Unlucky that we don't have "Gadget" support yet. Or else ancient gear would be op.

Ancient gears are op because of geartown not their "Gadget" tribute summon effects, being able to summon a big beater by blowing up your own field spell with a card like double cyclone gives great trade offs for the deck

That is a fair assumption. I just hope it isn't right. AG Gadget wouldn't keep up with the consistency as much.

I feel like running Gadgets in an Ancient Gear deck would significantly REDUCE consistency honestly. (Especially given the benefits are minimal.)

But their impact on the game in general would be pretty large (probably moreso than is worth it, given the fact backrow + solid cards is already more or less a viable strategy).

And I agree that Gadgets only add a level of extra play instead of being an actual staple in an AG deck. Especially with this 20 card "Speed Duel" (as Konami has officially been calling them) I just don't think that Gadgets will be prevalent in an AG deck now. On the other side of that, I still don't think it is a coincidence we are getting cards with "Gadget" effects. That is all.
