Pros

  • Inflicts life points damage to your opponents.

Cons

  • Also inflicts same amount of damage to your life points
  • You need to destroy 1 face-up monster you control.

Tips

  • You can take control of your opponent’s monster by using Enemy Controller, and destroy that monster with Destruction Ring instead.
  • If you are running token based deck, you can also consider using Creature Seizure in order to take control of your opponent’s monster.

Synergy

You can destroy your own Vortex Trooper to draw 1 card from your Deck. You can destroy Emissary of the Afterlife to add 1 level 3 or lower Normal monster from your Deck to your Hand. Fires of Doomsday and Stray Lamb provides you 2 tokens for you to destroy using Destruction Ring’s effect, reducing the cost of actual monsters. Similarly, Cosmic Compass and Phantom Skyblaster is able to generate tokens for you to destroy as well.
