When a face-up monster you control is targeted for an attack: Send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard, then, if it was a Monster Card, your monster gains ATK equal to the sent monster's ATK until the End Phase. This effect can be applied up to 3 times. If the attack target's ATK becomes higher than the attacking monster's by this card's effect, destroy the attack target monster.

Pros

  • Boosts monster’s attack.
  • Mills a card from your deck.

Cons

  • Destroys your own monster.

Tips

  • The self-destruction effect makes this card difficult to use. Only good for protecting monsters that cannot be destroyed by a card effect.
  • Sending a card from the top of your deck to the graveyard can be useful for setup or triggering effects.

Useful, on Zero Attack Monster Decks

I think this card will be good in triamid. You can swap with fortress to prevent your monster destroyed

Very cool card

And to what I (same person) just posted...other decks I'd think it could work with would be like somewhat spell reliant so it's iffy (and they have enough consistency pieces already), like something using Neos Fusion as another fuel card as it'd keep said fusion from blowing up or Vendread. Or ya know self-destructing stuff which probably doesn't want to handle it this way, like Yubel (sure ya got 0 ATK cards you want down, but you don't exactly want other cards sent to GY in this manner).

So yeah, think "has continual protection" is the better way to go. It's certainly a gimmick, so finding use for it is...not going to go over smoothly.

None of these decks would want to play this card though

The ones in this comment, yeah they probably wouldn't. They're either consistent enough or have issues with its randomness. Stuff with partial protection or self-destructing can't make good use for it (but they can try). Comparatively, self-mill stuff (like Shurani) would never use this because those have strictly better options. Still think it could be a gimmick with stuff in the prior comment.

Some decks I think it'd be...okay with.

Mecha Phantom Beasts (with tuners and/or Areosguin). Continuous protection (even for the tokens with synchros), mix of high and low ATK monsters (not much middling), and grave benefits.

Rock decks (with Block Dragon). Triamid can fuel grave effects and Magnets can set-up, Triamid Fortress adds more protection consistency and you can self-fuel Delta while also triggering it, and refunding Block itself possibly dumping Valks/Berserk/other Blocks for huge ATK.

awesome, doesn't look bad at all.

One of the dumbest SR in the game, this card only deserve to be N at best.

If the ATK becomes higher the monster is destroyed, meaning you either go through all that just to reduce battle damage, or you are forced to use this card only on monsters that cannot be destroyed by card effect, of which there are not many that are easy to summon. And one of them, Cocytus, prefers to be in Defense, meaning ATK boost is pointless for it.

Well, obviously. This card was used by Yusei in a duel against Jack, and of course he used his main protagonist 🔥ting powers to manage to get his dragon an EQUAL attack to Jack´s. Only plot armor stadistics, rather than real world´s, will net you that.

Yeah, no matter what, you still lose your monster, unless it's immune to destruction by effect.
Cherry Inmato
use it to send low atk monsters that wanna be in the grave?
volcanic shell ,sinister serpent ,olion ,steam the cloak and ronintoadin. still very gimmicky and jank tho

Yeah, but like you said, we have way better milling card/mechanics than this one. Guess you could use it for s.hit and giggles, just like 80% of the cards we have in the game.
Anonymous
Well you can combine it with a monsters that can't be destroyed by card effect, or make one with power of the guardian or clear effector.
Anonymous
kinda powerful

can I activate during the damage step? If so, will it deny the attack if destroyed?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
No, it cannot be activated during damage step.

Refer 1st sentence, "When a face-up monster you control is targeted for an attack" this refers to the time you monster was selected as attack target, means before damage step.

There’s no point to this card! Like, why use it if your monster, that you’re trying to protect, will just get destroyed by the card effect if they get a higher attack than the attacking monster? It’s not like there’s that many easy-to-summon monsters that have an effect that protects them from other card effects....
