Tips

This is a very good hand trap that potentially deals massive damage to your unsuspecting opponents.

Synergy

These are the Gem-Knight EARTH attribute Normal monsters that can benefit from Gem-Merchant’s effect. Gem-Knight Iolite only benefits from the effect if it was still a Normal monster.

So, Gem-Knight Zirconia is a fusion monster, but also a normal monster correct? The attribute is earth, and has no effect. So it fits the Gem-Merchant requirement right? If so, I cannot seem to activate it. Could someone explain what I have missed.

it is a fusion. Having no effect doesnt make it a normal monster

Fusion monster with no effect is both a Fusion monster and a Non-Effect monster, not Normal monster.

All the Normal monsters are also Non-Effect monsters, but not all Non-Effect monsters are Normal monsters.

This distinction is why the spell card White Elephant's Gift has that text.

Another example, Scrap Archfiend is a Synchro monster that's also a Non-Effect monster.

Can someone tell me why this card only works sometimes? So sometimes my monster would just ram himself head first into a monster with 900 more attack

It only works for normal monsters.
