Nope. Kiteroid only protects direct attack. If you have low ATK monster in attack position and your opponent has big boss + Concentrating Current, Kiteroid will be useless
Apparently the anime text says once per duel. I don't know why the Tag Force text omitted that part.

Anyone calling this strictly better than Kuriboh is wrong. Kuriboh (regular and sphere) can activate when they attack your monsters or directly, unlike this card which can only stop direct attacks
