Pros

  • Able to swap your weak monsters with your opponent’s strong monsters.
  • The monster switch is permanent.
  • Potentially weaken your opponent’s field if they only have 1 or 2 strong monsters.

Cons

  • You must choose a face-up Normal monster to exchange. (Your opponent can choose either Normal/Effect monsters to exchange)
  • Opponent can also choose to exchange a weaker monster, including their set monsters.

Tips

  • Similarly to Enemy Controller plays, this card allows you to take control of your opponents’ important monsters, you can either use them to attack or you can use them for tribute summon plays. Difference is, the exchange is permanent.
  • Using Order to Charge in your deck provides greater flexibility as in you can choose to destroy their monster using your own Normal monster, if you don’t have Creature Seizure in your hand, and the situation demands it.

Support

Creature Seizure works best in a Normal Monster deck, so these are the cards that you should look out for when building your deck.

Recommended monsters

Although Venus is an effect monster, it is able to generate Mystical Shine Balls which are really low in ATK and DEF, you can use Creature Seizure to exchange Mystical Shine Ball with your opponent’s monster, to fill your field with strong monsters.

Knight of the Red Lotus

This card is able to Special summon Normal monsters from your graveyard, so you can Special summon weaker Normal monsters and use Creature Seizure to exchange with your opponent’s monster.

Rulings

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4

This monster’s control cannot be changed therefore your opponent remains in possession of this monster.

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6

This monster is unaffected by Spell effects therefore your opponent remains in possession of this monster.

Google Translate makes that rather readable. (Basically, good in decks with Venus or Ojamas.)

Since this seems to target the player (who is then forced to choose) could you steal Horus and other things with it that are unaffected by spells cards?

Horus is protected from magical monster swapping

It's hilarious with 3 copies and Ojamas lol. Especially when you manage to lock down 2 of their slots, they whip out something to get over your 2500 def, then you proceed to steal it the next turn XD.

It said "Normal monster" but why this work with token too?

Coz Tokens are considered Normal monsters.

This card works well with Phantom Skyblaster and Cosmic Compass. When you trade your token with your opponent's monster and they refuse to trade by activating ECON take, the trade-off is still good.

phantom skyblaster?
Terin
Works great in a Mecha Phantom Beast deck. Tokens are always considered Normal Monsters.
Creature Swap
Okay, we'll settle for this. When will Ameba come out?

So you want your opponent to play ameba? Cuz you can't switch your own ameba with creature seizure.

Youre better off using a Mystic Box

Mystic Box on Dakini, opp banish MAR. Not effective

Correct, Mystic Box destroys your own monster in a way because you are giving it away without any return. Creature Seizure is way better.
Daemon Blitzkrieg
I'd hate to give this away...but I'm a fair dude so:

Ojama Knight + Country + Seizure on some useless Ojama or Token
= Field Locked & Easy Farming (and yes, potential PvP decking)

You are so smart, Daemon!

I understand why this is coming to Duel Links instead of Creature Swap but the real question is why does this card even exist?

"Here, take my Mystical Shine Ball" xD

Does this work if your opponent does not have a Normal Monster? You just give him one of yours and you get nothing?

Anonymous Reply
Yes, if your opponent chooses a monster s/he owns, whether it's a fusion, ritual, effect, or even token, and creature seizure will switch places with a normal monster of your own.
