  • Special summons up to 2 monsters from your deck.

Cons

  • Activation condition could be difficult, especially for decks that focus a lot on offense.
  • Can only special summon monsters of the same name as the destroyed monster.

Tips

Exodia deck

Exodia decks filled with weak attack monsters that can be trigger Broken Blocker when they are destroyed. You would then thin your deck and special summon monsters with Draw and search effects. Special summon 2 Dark Mimic LV1 in defense position to turn them into Dark Mimic LV3 during your next standby phase.

Spell Counters

Spell Counter decks have a bunch of monsters with high defense. This means that you can use Broken Blocker as an effective way of swarming the field. Swarming the field with these monsters means you can generate Spell Counters quicker and with Magical Citadel of Endymion you will have a way to pass those spell counters around.

This card was pretty disappointing. I thought it had potential but the text doesn't clarify that the destroyed monster must be in face-up defense position. If it worked when the monster was face-down this card would be fun to use.

It does work when face-down flipped up from battle destruction.

It only specifies it needs to be Defence Position, can be face-up or face-down don't worry :)
