This card's name becomes "Summoned Skull" on the field, but is still treated as an "Archfiend" card. All "Summoned Skull" you control gain 500 ATK. If this Fusion Summoned card you control is sent to your GY by an opponent's card: You can Special Summon 1 "Summoned Skull" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

Both of Archfiend’s Manifestation’s effects only with monsters specifically named Summoned Skull, monsters of the same archetype like Toon Summoned Skull do not count. Luckily he changes his name to Summoned Skull while on the field, so at the very least he gets an attack boost.

Changing his name to Summoned Skull will give him access to specific support such as Makiu, the Magical Mist.

Archfiend

A well supported Fiend archetype. In particular Archfiend decks have a lot of revival options for you to revive your Archfiend’s Call. You can use Archfiend Palabyrinth while Archfiend’s Manifestation is treated as Summoned Skull to summon a Summoned Skull from your deck.

Are you trying to SS another Manifestation or Archfiend's Call from the graveyard?

Even if they're properly summoned, you still cannot float into them, because they are only treated as Summoned Skull while on the field.

In case if you didn't know, Summoned Skull already becomes an archetype itself.

I'm guessing this might be a hint that a normal structure deck for Summoned Skull may be coming soon with the original Summoned Skull in it.

The TCG recently got them all at once (the OCG got them over time), and they're cool enough cards. I doubt there's any real motive behind it, they're just recent cards within DL's power level.

The price for old boxes should be reduced to half soon. Not sure which boxes but i think this is one of them.

It is, the first 7 will be temporarily reduced. Summoned Skull is in Wonders of the Sky which is within the first 7 main/mini box generation

Oh yeah, there's the Ritual one too.

I hope they hold back the Ritual one until we can get the Xyz one, missing just 1 feels sucks, so I prefer if we have to wait for 2 instead.

Well, I guess people will use this with fusion substitutes like Swamp King, I really doubt people will spend gems on an old & pretty much useless main box just to get Vanilla Summoned Skull ...

Unless Titan is coming... Hah, yeah right, wishful thinking...
