NewArbysBeef | A Trick up the Sleeve | Feb 22 |
A comment from NewArbysBeef:
In actuality I bounced back and forth from Koa'Ki and Blue Eyes Cosmo. They both accomplish the same thing: a swarming OTK win strongly possible at turn 2. The difference is intensity. Koa'Ki is essentially Blue Eyes on steroids. It has a better OTK but it also has a harder time recovering. For example lets say you get stopped with your Blue Eyes combo. You have Silver's Cry available, Majesty for stall, Azure Eyes if it really comes down to it. The typical Kao'Ki deck doesn't have that because of the 20-30 card limit. You either blitz out an OTK or hope you had Diamond Core active. Sure it does have cards in Duel Links to raise from the GY with but the higher tier Koa'Ki decks overwhelmingly tend to avoid them because you're pushing a 20 card deck to the limit as is.
As far as my Blue Eyes deck in particular, I run Protector over White Stone because of greater defense which every now and then comes in handy if Canadia wants to attack and it can special summon another one of itself helping me swarm better. Psychic Ace is essential, seriously I don't understand why people run Relinkuriboh over it. Cosmo's whole schtick is to tribute monsters. Tribute Ace for BEWD and pop any card on the field. CAREFUL THOUGH! Don't tribute Ace for Dragon Spirit of White as you'll miss timing. Treacherous Trap is my preferred trap card and I keep one E Con and Sphere Kuriboh for stall.
NOTE: If the above is too long:

Wayone | Sealed Tombs | Feb 20 |
A comment from Wayone:
Bujins aren't difficult to understand how they work, both yamato and mikazuchi are the bosses monster from this deck due his good effects, just put yamato in the field and then start trigging his effect in end phase sending both bujingi quilin and turtle to use them later, also always try to keep crane and mikazuch in your hand to skip from being otked by koakis, kuribohs, canadia, floodgate and controller are good defenses, mainly against Blader DNA where just flipping DNA your bujingis become useless due monter type changes, always try to keep controller in hand to bring canadia to the field and take a control of blader or paladin to finish the your opponent, also controller is one of the only defense cards against ancient gears.
Hirume was added to finish a game where you was floodgated or something like that, always take atention of opponent delay to know what card was setted. Fire Formation to increase your bujins atk and lock cards from opponent.
To finish off, Sealed Tombs to deal against diamond core removal, spellbooks and another graveyard decks like vampire, the worst matchup are against ancient gears since they can destroy your backrow and don't allow us to use monster effects in battle phase, parasite infestation is another counter skill against this deck since the parasite enter in the field changing monster type, so keep alert on what you will face off. Climbed against a Koaki Meiru, basically they was 80% of my matches.

A comment from [RW] Luxun:
This build rarely bricks. The main combo comes really early on and shuts everything down. Just be careful when atttacking; it won't hurt to wait for trunade if you are able to. Don't ignore Armades, he saved me in a few games against odion full trap.

Got KOG really easy this season, just summon ur BB Destroyer against Koaki and they will auto surrender, mirror match is kinda tricky, patience is the key. if your opening hand is DNA Surgery, Destroyer Fusion Spell, and BB/Substitute, 90% u will win the match, 10% is your personal mistake. and always use arrow if you will OTK.

DrHeisenberg | What Grows in the Graveyard | Feb 27 |
A comment from DrHeisenberg:
I used an Amazoness / Control deck, combined with Silent Swordsman. Skill is What Grows in the Graveyard. The standard Amazoness Cards are my build's core. While Onslaught helped coping with the opponents' strong monsters, Amazoness Swords Woman guaranteed a lethal 1500+ damage against several Ancient Gears Monsters (especially after Floodgating or Canadia'ing them). I added 3 Junk Synchrons to summon Armades who saved me against heavy backrow decks or prevented Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon from destroying a Card after attacking. This deck's MVP is Silent Swordsman Level 7 - once summoned, he deals with Koa'ki, Ancient Gears as well as Vampires by negating all Spell Effects on the field.
As tech Cards I added 3 Canadias, 2 Floodgates and 2 Mirror Walls to interrupt Koa'ki and Ancient Gears (which I by far faced the most) and countering Trunade. D.D. Assailant helped a lot, too, because not only allows his effect to banish a monster but also is he a Warrior type which allows you to summon Silent Swordsman by tributing him. Amazoness proved to be the worst matchup.

A comment from Yugidce112:
This deck has an overall good synergy and does well against most deck. This month it was quite challenging with AG reactor dragon but luckily i did not face any in my final 5 games to KOG.

Overhaul | Destiny Board | Feb 7 |
A comment from Overhaul:
Get your LP below 2K(with the help of Burst Rebirth if needed), get rid of necrofear and stall turns with Kuribohs and Traps and win with Destiny Board. You need to be experienced to use this deck. Extra deck is just bluff.

Zayna™ | The Tie that Binds | Feb 21 |
A comment from Zayna™:
Before KC Cup, I stuck with AG and burn deck in legend 1 then switch to this deck after.
First, try to predict the enemy deck.
Vs Koaki:
Use floodgate, Canadia, and mayhem to stall and summon Obelisk as fast as possible. Always used canadia/floodgate to facedown urknight.
Vs AG:
Don't set trap/spell card, just destroy their monsters with a combination of beat, donpa and wiz/beat, seal, and Dyna.
Or you can just summon obelisk as fast as possible to made him surrendered.
Vs Spellbook:
You win if you go first and summon wiz.
If you go second, set Canadia and floodgate, set any fur monsters and destroy their monster with recon next turn.
Vs Vampire:
Use your Canadia/floodgate to vamp/grace. Then finish it with obelisk/golem.
Any other deck can be defeated with combination of recon and floodgate/Canadia.

Exowave | Parasite Infestation | Feb 28 |
A comment from Exowave:
This particular fur hire version of mine is focused on disruption, no matter which turns you go 1st or second.
Skill by itself is very useful to make opponents deck bigger and lower their chances to topdeck their combo pieces, you can additionally cuck your opponent by either using Jade insect card to ruin their draw phase and make their monster slot useless essentially or just make them have less chance to OTK like Koaki (unless they are U.A or Monarchs then you are fucked.)
It normally runs in amazoness/lava golem hybrids or cyber dark which are all slower decks, but turns out it can buff Fur Hires too since more often then not you can deal 3000 dmg with 2 monsters get cucked with Sphere ebola or kuribohs with 3rd attack and then in next turn you can deal additional 1000 dmg for the game before opponent even gets to make comeback. Not to mention that you can ruin Bujins and Slow books just by doing essentially nothing.
It relies on you knowing what approach to take vs every match up, it can be played as pure stun grind fest and it can go in turbo all or nothing approach, but if you mistake it at the of match you lose no matter which kind of hand you have in the beginning. And if you ask me if I had 3rd Canadia and floodgate I would not put them in for example, because it would limit 1 of the options that deck has a really flexible version of furries in my opinion.

A comment from TjTier0:
Swept through legend only losing once to vampires. Gemini keeps so much pressure on koaki no matter if going first or second. Gemini out resource most decks and usually keep field advantage do to supervise and spark. Had 2 drownings for most rouge decks but never used it. Would probably swap 1 drowning for another floodgate.

Lush | Beatdown | Feb 22 |
A comment from Lush:
Hazy Flames are still KOG worthy for a reason! Despite the changing meta Hazy still pulled it off.
The deck is entirely monsters, I tried having Anti Magic or Hey Trunade but either they bricked my hand or Sphnyx's effect so it ended up not being worth the trouble. Cerberus became a liability as it attacks can't break 3k and with AG everywhere the searching doesn't pop off often. Manticore is the go-to beater as it breaks over Maximus, Reactor Dragon, Blue Eyes, and evens out with Cosmo Brain.
Vs Koaki Meiru: It can go either way. Thankfully Maximus and Ice can't use their effects on the Hazy monster and maximus has to rely on only attacking. It really depends on who can set up their field first. Also Sandman & Wall are useless since they're too weak too destroy any Hazy along with them not being able to get their effects off.
Vs Ancient Gear: Thankfully they hardly run any protects so running them over won't be a huge issue. Pretty much you have to beat them down before they can get Reactor Dragon off or use Manticore to beat over it. Annoying but not impossible to bear.
Vs Vampire: A real good match up, Hazy monsters are protected against Vampire Kingdom's effect and Vamp can't snatch them either. In fact you can use Kingdom to your own advantage with Sphnyx since the effect applies to any miling and it's not optional.
Vs Masked Heroes: A tricky fight, most protections they run are targeting and running over Anki is no issue. It's Decider who stands in the way. It can lock you down and I added the Volcanic card just for a lvl 5 beater to defeat it.
Vs Buster Blader: Sadly a bad match up, targeting protection can't protect against the fusion card and if they get it off then you're pretty much done. Maybe if you have an early Jinzo on the field or otk them before they can get it off. Overall not very favorable.
Vs Spell Books: Spellbook of fate is nontargeting and can banish Hazy cards. Hazy has the speed advantage over them so the main tactic is to beat down on them before they can get Silent Magician off.
Vs Karakuri: It's a bit even with it leaning to Hazy. Shogun is render to a not very good beat stick and they hardly run any non target protections. With a full field on they can't do much other than try and pluck one card off.
Vs Amazoness: Onslaught is nontargeting so it can banish Hazy cards. The main tactic to get Jinzo off or to just beat down on Princess while Queen keeps it on the field.
Vs Blue Eyes: Favorable, Spirit of White is rendered to a lousy beatstick since it's effect is useless and the main issue to remove Cosmo Brain. Pretty much you have to either suicide into it with Manticore or destroy it with Jinzo or Volcanic.
